Okay, to anybody out there who has been or will be in Dumfries, Scotland anytime, you should check out the Caven's Arms on Buccleuch Street. The best pub in the town by a long way. Great food, huge selection of drinks, extraordinarily friendly staff, and is a family owned business.
I am not an employee, I have only been going since the landlord took over, and the publife in British towns has dwindled over the last year or so. If any pub deserves to do well in the current climate, it's this one.

Cool story bro.
There are about 10 Scots on here, 9 of those are not from Dumfries.

Did I mention that the Old Post Office in Linlithgow where nobody has been ever on here is quite nice inside. Really, go there!

Guess by your calculations then that I am the only one from Dumfries. But yeah, if I am in your region, I will check it out. Hope you will do me the same honour.

According to the GTP world map (though of course not everyone has checked in) there is 6-10 of you Scots. As much as we all like our local places, unless you're aware of someone visiting the area it seems a little pointless to tell us all about it. I'd actually wager there's more registered GTP members then there are people in the whole of Dumfries.

I'm sure we could all devote entire threads to our favourite haunts and you can see how that would go which is why we don't do it, it's just not in most peoples interest and it could quickly spiral out of control. In my personal opinion this doesn't need it's own thread.

I decided to google the place anyway and I couldn't find much interesting outside of pretty standard reviews though mostly good it must be said, except that some money was stolen from someones purses there on June 1st and the Police were looking for witnesses .

Surely that is worthy of it's own thread in the Opinions and Current Events forum... So don't go off topic
There is a really good chinese called the Puple Sage in Livingstone.
