best racing game next to GT3

i think that Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero is the best racing game next to GT3 because its different from any other racing game. theres 400 people you have to beat and lane spiting at over 200mph is real fun. theres also a very good sense of speed in it. the handling is very unrealistic but still fun. when you let off the gas and trun turn hard the rear end steps out, then you get on the gas and it comes back. what do you guys think the best racing game is besides GT3 is?

Besides all the GT:s the racing game that I probably have played most is Vanishing Point for ps1.. The thing that caught me is that it is always very challangeing but yet possible to win with a lot of effort. And the stunt-section...

I would also say Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero is number 2 behind GT3. I own all of the GT games and TXRO.

Well in TXR0 there is a limited top speed for the game itself, I forgot what the MPH was 256 or something, but I think Wangan Midnight or Battle Gear 3

On the PS2 I'd say NFS:HP2 is the best even though it is arcade style handling. Obviously GT1&2 are the best on older systems, but if anyone has a Dreamcast Metropolis Street Racer might be worth a go. (Yes, the Xbox' Project Gotham is based on this game.)
MSR was a much better game though, although it featured less flashy cars.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero is my vote and its worth it u can buy it for $20 US and my fav car is one of the normal R34s i can beat anything with it

thats was terrible . for example one of wanderer will battle you after u get lvl 7 engine & lvl
8 muffler ...so thats make me leave it auto pilot for one & half hour just want to get 1800km
on odometer than i get that stuff...hmmm

but for the new one ( will release on 24.07.03.confirm at japan )
they said no more wanderers ...thats better even u will battle again 2 rivals same like kaido battle ....arhhhhhhhhh cant wait .

My vote goes to Txrzero but pro race driver comes in at a close third, i chose txr0 because it has more cars..but pro raace driver has some nice Damage modeling and it is challenging, one of those games that make you throw the remote across the room, lol, i actually broke my ds2 because of that game because i only needed to come in first one more time to win the champoinship an advance to the next round, but this idiot car whom i pushed off the road earlier came after me pushed me into the wall and i lost my front left tire, and i was in first place and it was an easy course lol wow i was REALLY HEATED...But when a game gets me heated like that...i think its a good thing, not many games do..i know ya didnt ask but jus thought i'de share

hey my skyline can go close to 275 mph!
what you need to do is get 1860 miles on your best car and you can get L 7 Moter and L 8 muff. And than you car can really MOVE! my skyline has 1200+HP so....

I'd say Kaido Battle. Graphics and sound is superb, and the handling is quite realistic as well.

There's nothing like getting a perfect drift around a hairpin on a rainy night ..

I would have to give my vote To TXRO also I love that game and My RX7's in it, Especially Late Night princesse's its actually faster than My freinds Speed Kings car, or I just have it geared better, but yeah its so fun long live the RR(rotary Revolution)

World Of Outlaws sprint car racing 2002 or Dirt to Daytona they too are a sim game like the gt3 series and both are made by Ratbag games and Infograms both are leaders in the PC racing games and are now focusing on the ps2.

Burnout 2. It's more of an arcade style racer. Excellent graphics.

TOCA Race driver every time.

Pro race driver only had 8 cars on the grid, TOCA had 14. Codemasters reduced the grid count because they were worried about slow-down complaints in the US. However can't say I've had much call to complain about slow-down.

TXR0 is damn good fun, but its a forth place I'm afraid

I still like Ridge Racer V, I know a lot of people don't like this game, or they say it's old, but I love it, actually I love all of the game in the Ridge Racer Series.

I find that TXR0 gets boring, just my opinion though. As far as racing i usually just play GT3 but Burnout2 is always fun although completely arcade style.
