I've been thinking about getting a steering wheel for GT5 but I'm not sure which to get. Which do you guys think is the best to buy. Also consider the price. I require it have the clutch pedal as well as the stick shift. I'm not worrying about paddle shifters but if it has them then it's fine.

I think PD themselves are endorsing the thrustmaster t500rs. I haven't gotten the chance to use a wheel yet so honestly i don't know. There is also the logitech g27. These both have a clutch. I hope to get one these soon. And while your at it there is also a wheel stand pd recommends too. There is section fot wheels and gear on this site.

It's not to difficult to just search the Internet for prices but Newegg has the G27 for $204.99 and the T500RS for $534.

DFGT is the cheap one. $120 new and $50-$70 used on amazon. Plus you have the GT logo in the middle.

I have the G27. You can find around the $250-$300 range. Thrust master is the best but twice the price and not worth it for a video game unless your going full race simulator.

Thank you guys for the help! Defiantly considering the G27.

I have a G27 and it's fine. Sometimes when you drive over a curb, the wheel makes some strange moves/noises but I can live with it. Next time I think I'm buying a Thrustmaster.

Being a Fanatec owner I would recommend Fanatec, they make the G27 feel like a toy. They are so much quieter and smoother.

Well, it's supposed to do that, that's what makes it realistic to drive with it

Don't know if you were replying to my comment, but if you were I would say that off course should the wheel pull much more when driving over curbs. What I meant was, that the tolerance in the helical gears is for some reason not good enough and therefore I get these sudden weird movements of the wheel. Trust me, it's not realistic.

I have tried them all, for GT5 I recommend the Thrustmaster T500 all the way. Then someday you might want to try iRacing and other PC racers. The T500 is the number one choice of iRacers for a reason, it's the best wheel on the market.

I agree.

This is my wheel

I also have the Playseat racing seat, which is built for the G27 it feels like your in a race car, but you don't really gotta take it that far its just a nice touch

Trust me , no ffb wheel is realistic. Real steering wheel are design to amplify the driver's force applied to the wheel while all ffb wheels completely ignores the driver's input. FFB wheels only reads the position of the wheel and sent it to the software then the software sent the how much force to apply to the wheel. You can spend $1000 on a ffb wheel and it still feels like a toy.

Yeah that's true I guess, but it's about as close as you'll get to the real thing

Call Logitech and tell them your DFGT broke (even if you've never owned one), and they will give you a G27 half price 👍

Lol, really? Well I'll have to give it a try
