so here are the best known tuners I've seen:
Nismo
Autech
R.E. Amemiya
Spoon
Mugen
Amuse
Trial
Opera Performance
T.R.D
Tom's
Veilside
Wings West
C-West
Mazdaspeed
Ralliart
Saleen

which of these or any other do you think is the best tuner(S)?

oh yeah car dealerships that can put big engines in small cars are really deserving of the title "best tuner."

how about a company thats still around that actually does development and make innovations in the automotive sector.

Wow you're ignorant. Yenko is the only one that's not still doing cars (To my knowledge). Katech has just recently done a 525hp CTS-V. Baldwin-Motion debuted a new concept at SEMA a week ago. If I have to explain Lingenfelter, you need to do your homework.

As for the best tuning company, obviously it's Evoluzione Engineering :)

Really, though, my vote goes to Matchless Crowd Racing.

Should I also point out that the Yenko and Baldwin-Motion cars were complete package machines?

A perfect example of Yenko's prowess is the 1966/67 Yenko Stinger, based on the Chevrolet Corvair Corsa coupe. 100 of them were built to homologate the car for SCCA D/Production racing. They were top to bottom rebuilds of the Corvair Corsa.

Stage I:

Fiberglass engine lid with spoiler and air inlets.
Fiberglass rear pilllar landau panels.
Stinger trim, includes stripes, dechroming, and lower body paint.
HD suspension [Factory].
Fast steering (3.0 turns lock to lock) [This is the factory fast box with aftermarket fast arms].
Dual master cylinder brake system.
Rejetted and calibrated carburators.
Finned aluminum 7 quart oil pan.
Tuff-trided crankshaft.
Moraine M-400 rod and main bearings.
Quick bleed lifters.
Tuned exhaust headers with steel pack mufflers and chrome exhaust pipes.
4-speed close ratio transmission.
Rear compartment paneling [Removed back seat, replaced with carpeted plywood panel].

Stage II
As above, with the following additions or changes:

Stinger camshaft w/heavy duty springs and retainers.
Modified cooling fan [reduced diameter].
Pistons notched for valve clearance.
Polished crank.
Select fit main bearings.
Select fit piston skirts.
Horizontal oil control baffle.
Deep sump oil pan pickup.
High performance cylinder heads (10:1 compression) [not ported].
Carburators modified for cornering [vent tubes installed].
High capacity ignition wires.
Lightened flywheel.

Stage III
As above, with the following additions or changes:

Engine disassembled and penetrant checked, includes Magnaflux of connecting rods and crankshaft, Zyglo of pistons.
Stinger super high performance cam w/double springs and hd retainers.
Extra high performance cylinder heads (10.5:1 compression) with milled register surfaces, planed bottom fins, bored risers, enlarged and matched ports, relieved and polished passages, and performance valve grind.
Full floating forged pistons (balanced, pin fitted, and notched for valve clearance).
Honed cylinder barrels.
Polished and balanced crankshaft.
Polished and shotpeened connecting rods.
High capacity engine breather.
Reworked oil pump [high volume "409" conversion].
Baffled oil pan with temp gauge fitting.
Heavy duty oil cooler with modified plumbing.
Extra-light balanced flywheel.
High tension clutch pressure plate.
Degreed balancer.
Carburators modified for turn cut out, modified air horn and venturi [vent tubes installed, chokes removed, venturis bored larger].
Heavy duty fuel lines.
Tuned velocity stacks.

Options:
I've left off the parts that were regular Chevrolet options, these are the Yenko specific parts available on that first batch of 100.

3.89 rear axle ratio.
Competition seat belts.
Head rests.
10 gallon auxiliary fuel tank.
Special metallic brakes including special drums.
Power brakes.
Heavy duty valve guides [bronze].
Yenko roll bar.
13x7 steel wheels.

Yeah, just stuffing a big engine into a car.

i had thought they just put 427s in novas and camaros. thanks for such a good post rather then just calling me ignorant outright and leaving it at that.

I aim to educate. It was companies like Yenko, Baldwin-Motion, Dana, Berger, Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding, Royal Bobcat, Greenwood, Abarth, and even MG's infamous Ken Costello that laid the groundwork for the modern tuners.

Even the drag-heavy Baldwin-Motion Camaros and Corvettes had tons of suspension and body modifications, all in the interest of insane performance.

i think top secret should be included in this list...they are the ultimate in exotic engine swaps. they even have a 69 mustang or something running an RB30 or 2jz something crazy like that. anyways they can make anything work and they are a great tuning company.

second is apex'i. they make some crazy cars.
JIC's RX-8 has the best time (or at least to5) ever on a slalom course so we'll say its one of the best handling cars ever.

There are tons of tuners that should be included, but I thought this was about choosing one thats already on RACECAR's list.

Ah I see I didnt notice that.

MCR is a nice one, Mines is one of my favorites.

here's more:
Mopar
Specterwerks
Mine's
AMG
Gembella
F1 Motoring
Wald
Renntech
Boyd Connington
Gorilla Motorsports
TAG Motorsports
Hennessey Perfomance
Cargraphic
Brabus

Here's more:
Blitz
JUN
Tommi Kaira
HKS

man dont you think some of these are in the wrong class? we're talking suspension tuners to full out race cars for the street. it doesnt make sense.

some one say JIC vs AMG? come on...

JIC
AMG :D
they have been said

So do tell whats wrong with some of the ones I picked out

Umm... why not "EDIT" your first post to include what you've added? That would atleast make sense.

Anywho, my votes lean on FABULOUS, anyway. Luxury and Sport makes everything.

usually(at least when I'm around), no one looks at the first post after the first time :grumpy: so I add on in later posts.

You could just perform the simple task of posting a sign saying,

**UPDATE**

That would make them look again. :D

nothing is wrong with them. its just they arent in the same class. its like compairing arospeed to mclaren. not going to happen.

I'll keep that in mind. thanks 👍

I was showing just the well known ones and I didn't relise they were all different types.

Comptech, Jun, amuse, Mine's, Nismo, spoon, HKS, Kei office, and u guys mentioned the rest.

Almost forgot J's racing.

My favorite would be Spoon. The amount of things they do with a 4 banger is ridiculous. When you compare the amount of horsepower and performance gained from a 4 cylender compact with Spoon technology, its hard not to respect the company.
