Ok, I couldn't really find a definite answer to this, so I've done some digging, some testing, and a bit of extrapolation, and came up with the following Top 5 races for xp/min (base xp taken from the GT5 Matrix):

  1. 24 Hours Nuerburgring: 11,572
  2. 4 Hours Nuerburgring: 11,368
  3. 9 Hours Tsukuba: 7,160
  4. Indy 500: 6,788
  5. 24 Hours Le Mans: 5,979
As said, I did not test all races, I've tested a subset based on the theories floating around this board, and then made the assumption that the same logic applies for all races.

If anyone has any experience here and can throw in as to whether these numbers look right to them, or not, any further input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

2 Dream Car Nuerburgring race. ( New entry )
3 4 Hours Nuerburgring: 11,368

5 Indy 500: 6,788
6 24 Hours Le Mans: 5,979

Dream car championships ring race does generate more Exp than doing the 4hr ring race.
If you use an FGT/X2010 and can micro manage the driver or use a USB bot race device. It will be faster leveling up than 4hr ring but is a chore.
Also if you have less time on PS3 than the Indy 500 race, the events can be run instead of missing out.

Also Timed races dont always finish at the time limit they could have to race upto another hole lap before the race ends for no extra XP.

You will also need to ensure you over power the car in the events that have Rain in races. Can't have you losing due to rain induced crashes. so car use of FGT or X2010 only.... your AI will be driving on NO energy bars for most of the race so will make more mistakes.

Untill you exit the race event The Level increase does not save. so make sure you exit race screen and go back to GT5 Home screen.

Hi GraphiteGB, this is particularly about leveling up a driver, not your overall B-Spec level. Based on the GT5 Matrix, and the type of race the DCC Nuerburgring is, it'll give your driver only 2,868 xp/min, which is well below anything I've posted in the Top 5.

Edit: As a side note, I believe the xp/min for the DCC Nuerburgring in the GT5 Matrix is slightly inflated anyway.

hang on so you'r basing it on the fact that you think you get More Xp the more drivers that were in the event
Even though GTC and Japan car event say oppersite, ill rerun those races again with level zero driver.

The X2010 Is faster than any other car.
XP/min increase the faster the laps.

For timed races, yes. I believe the GT5 Matrix is based, or at least supposed to be based, on X2010 times (Edit: Or rather, on the times using the fastest car you can use for the event). For the DCC Nuerburgring, as example, it has listed 16 minutes (15:60 actually) as finishing time. I always use my X2010 and I've never actually finished in 16 minutes, but closer to 17 minutes. And if you look at Tokyo, for example, it lists 15:50. I tend to finish Tokyo in the X2010 in under 12 minutes. For the last race I've done I've calculated the xp/min at 3100. That's the highest xp I've seen for your overall B-Spec level. Yet, individual drivers don't collect xp in the same way, they collect more xp in endurance races than they do in DCC races, due to the multiplier in races where you can race more than one driver.

First of all, this thread is not about your overall B-Spec level. It's about the quickest way to level up a driver. Given I was doing a single 4 Hour Nuerburgring and then a single 9 Hour Tsukuba and that brought my driver from low 39 all the way to 40, my driver must've gotten a lot more xp than what I was expecting to get. So I browsed the board, and quite a few people came up with the idea that the xp on offer for drivers is the xp of the race times the multiplier. I guess the logic is that your drivers are meant to advance at the same pace as you, and if you need to advance all four drivers by the same degree, then you need to hand out xp times 4. But, it's not actually equally divided over the participants, it seems it's divided based on how much each of them races. And if you only race one driver that driver gets the xp you get times 4, or whatever the multiplier is for the race. I've done a race with x1 and got the xp of the race, I've done one with x2 and got double the xp of the race. And I know that the 4 Hour Nuerburgring and 9 Hour Tsukuba I did paid out about x4, as I needed about 6.5 Million to reach level 40 and I got it with the two races.

Based on that, the Top 5 I posted are the best ways to level up a driver as quickly as possible. And that's what this thread was meant to be about.

Edit: Just finished another 4 Hour Nuerburgring, and while I can't give you any exact numbers, I seem to have gotten around the 2.7M I was expecting. So yes, it really does seem to be xp of the race times the multiplier.

Yes ok I did the shorter races.
japan GT 1 race Vs DCC 1 race. The driver b-spec levels were lower for DCC.

Ok. I still want to test the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as it's the only endurance race with x3 (all others are x4), but I'll leave this for when I next start to train up a level 0. Will be his first race. But if it really only gives x3 (that's the assumption I made in the Top 5), then it isn't a very good option. Even Tsukuba and Indy 500 have a better xp/min then.

Edit: Just finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and yes, it does seem like I've received about the xp of the race times 3. So as far as I'm concerned, I consider it confirmed that it's the xp of the race, times the multiplier.
