Best & Worst Cockpit View ?

This is a question for all the racers who like to use cockpit view. Now we have a cockpit view on standards as well as premiums (which changes the game massively for me). Which car do you think has the best cockpit view and which has the worst ? I am NOT talking about graphics, just which car has the best vision and seat positioning.

For me the best car by a mile has to be the caterham

and the worst has to be the Toyota Minolta (Its so claustrophobic) vision is terrible but I guess it's realistic.
 
My favorite would be the Shelby Cobra
Least would probably be the Lambo SV. Feels a bit too close to the wheel for my taste.
 
The GT by Citroens all have terrible cockpit views, but the Race Cars has to take the cake. I mean, you get a head up display of your speed...right in front of your eyes! Unbelievable.
 
ooh forgot about the lambo SV yes its terrible visibility but again I bet it's realistic. never been fortunate enough to try one out IRL
 
I drove the lotus elan last night and its pretty bad. It has a long nose with mirrors on the hood that you would normally be able to see, but instead after the windshield the car just drops off or is invisible.
 
I personaly hate the rally car cockpits. My favorite is the McLaren F1 or Ferrari F1 cars.
 
Gonna have to go with the McLaren F1, due the amazing center seating, and also the Ferrari 458 Italia, and then the worst would be the RM Impreza, mostly because its too high, and because there's a giant decal on the window :banghead:

Superb looking car, very detailed (especially its motor), and you can see the driver doing the actual shifting.
 
One of the Lotus's I forgot which one, but whoever modeled the radio/stereo unit inside the car really did not do a good job.
 
My favorite is the NASCAR cars. (You guys had to know that already tho, right. lol) I don't really have one I don't like.

Agree. Everytime I brake I think I'll hit my head (or helmet) against the front window. Also, the actually great sound of the SV sounds very bad in that position I think, that's the same with most other Premium cars anyway.

This. So annoying... the futuristic cockpit looks cool though, but that's not what this thread is about.

Haven't been either, but I've been sitting in a Murciélago (old generation) a few times (no joke! I love my local exotic car dealer :p ) and the cockpit isn't that small actually. Also, when you play other games like Driver San Francisco, there you have a much better cockpit view on the Super Velocé.

I don't understand why? You can see enough of the road, the cockpit doesn't look that bad either ... ?
 
McLaren F1 is by far my favourite. I love the Ford Mk IV too though. Best standard for me would be the Caterham.
 
My Favourite Has Got to Be The Samaba Bus I Love it! Steering is so different from all other cars simply because your sitting on top of the wheels! Its a Awsome Experience!

My Least Favourite is The Citreon Race Car or Road car i realy dislike both
 
best cockpit view for standard is Chrysler Prowler, just try it out and see it for yourself :)
 
Forgot to say how cool the Tank Car is now in cockpit view. Remember this thread is about view and how good the position is from within the cockpit.
 
Best is the 2005 STi, closely followed by the C63 AMG.

The worst interior is probably the RM Impreza, since the decal blocks out like 40% of the normal view.
 
The best I'd say is the Mazda 787B, it's so detailed and just perfect in general. The worst is no doubt the Mercedes Sauber C9. If it weren't for the engine noises it was making, I'd assume my TV was broken. Just two moving arches going across my screen. Boo. But it's a standard, so I guess that's alright. :p
 
I think the Citroen GT's all have a terrible view, if I don't know the course I usually miss the corner completely.

I really like the Corvette RM interior view, I have no trouble matching my best times using interior view in this car, I can see almost as good as I can with bumper cam.
 
Best: Citroen GT Road Car - it feels so spectacular to drive in, it may not be the best to see out of, but for the sheer thrill and craft of the cockpit itself, it makes you feel like your going really fast.

Runner Up: TVR Tamora - The cockpit of this car just looks so filled to the brim with lunacy and a hint of madness on top, the way the dials do in opposite directions and given the fact the Tamora is a wild beast just makes it much more thrilling.

Semi-Worst: Nissan GT-R Concept '05 (Premium) - Well.. it has none, even for a premium car (although its probably because it was a model of the GT-R, just with the engine equipped and PD made a car from that, understandable).

Worst: Mitsubushi i-MiEV - mainly because that droning engine sound it gives off like cancer is more pronounced and more irritating in this view, i had to mute the TV when i used it for the old seasonal event before they were all refreshed :crazy:
 
Best: Jag XJ13, Shelby Cobra, AM 60' Corvette
Worst: Vehicles like the Red Bull rally car where it feels like your driving a tank
 
Honorable Mention: Tank Car. The view makes you feel like you're dirving a school bus. It's actually a great feeling.

Best Premium: McLaren F1. The middle seat feeling is great, and it really helps you use the car to full potential.

Best Standard: Caterham Fireblade 7: It's not fast. But it feels like a real cruiser, and it makes me want one in real life

Worst Premium: Citroen GT. It looks cool from the outside, but unless you have binoculars on hand good luck driving it.

Worst Standard: Bentley Speed 8. Nice window slit you've got there (I haven't actually tried many standards since 2.0. There are probably many worse ones in my garage, I just haven't seen them yet
 
tank car is fun fun fun in cockpit view. I'm not a massive fan of the RUF's in cockpit view. I think you really miss the hood/bonnet on the RUF's
