Yesterday I got caught out a couple of times with people I was drafting jamming on the brakes for a split second just before I went for the overtake.

It's annoying and, what's more, it's very effective since you come to a near standstill and your opponent gets a free straight line punt :grumpy:

Never had this happen before yesterday. Have the punters learned a new trick? Anyone else suffered the same fate?

yeah I suffered the same from the same trick, really dirty I must say but there are always ways of avoiding dirty tricks. In that case I would say just sharpen up your mind so you can change lane fast if the one you are drafting slams on the brakes.

That's not new, I've been doing that for a while now. I don't do it on straights (I rarely do it at all), but if some idiot is trying to bump draft me as I enter a corner (especially in the closing portion of a race), then I will.

On tracks like Daytona, corner entry point and entry speed are super critical, so why should I be penalised by some halfwit who is trying to make me run wide. Better he is slowed than my racing line ruined. Like you said its very effective! 👍

You are a very nast man. I like the way you think. If swearing was allowed in this forum I'd be quoting the drill instructor from full metal jacket right now, the one about getting better acquainted with my sister :D

This has to be one of the dirtiest tricks. Three times has this happened to me on sraights. And the last two of those times I've succesfully dodged those idiots with a certain special technique, which is very rewadring.

'Certain special technique',let us know?

Absolutely!!!

For example the latest that happened on Fuji's long straight (it was700pp race back then). That Elise had tried to ruin my race all the time, so I knew what was to happen. We were speeding for the last lap. I was catching him fast. The most important thing: don't glue to the opponents bumber. There was about 100 meters gap between us. I just "serpented" behind him, like overtaking him from left but then overtook him from the right side, dodging his "brake attack" nicely. I managed to do the same earlier (the opponent was a GT-R driver).
Usually there are clear signs from the opponent if this technique is needed.

'I like you, you can come around and $%&# my sister!'

Like I say, I rarely use it, but at times I have to. I'm very forgiving of knocks and bumps, but I'm no door mat! 👍
