The rules are as follows:

  • Entries will accepted until 11:59pm (GMT) Wednesday 5th June
  • Each competition's voting will last for one week. The winner of that round will choose the next theme.
  • All entries must have been taken within the last 6 months and preferably after the announcement of the theme.
  • Entries must be posted as a thumbnail no larger than 700px on the longest edge. Full sized images may be as larger as you'd like.*
  • You must submit only your own photographs, do not post anyone else's work.
  • Only one photograph per person, marked with Final Entry. You can change your entry, but must remove your current entry first and clearly state that you have posted a new entry.
  • You must not vote for your own photograph when the Poll is up. Only vote for a photograph taken by another entrant.
  • The photograph must be submitted with the following information: Subject, Date and Camera used and, if you'd like, the major camera settings - shutter speed, ISO, etc.
*While full sized images may be as larger as you'd like, you should try to limit them to approximately 1200px to enable viewing the entire image without scrolling. It's much easier to see the full effect of the shot when you can view it all at once and not have to pan.

Current theme, chosen by Week #23 winner Homeforsummer
Summer. Since there are no guarantees everyone will get the required summery weather, people are free to use their imaginations on this one and photographs of stuff that conjures thoughts of summer will also be welcome

As this is week 25, I'm thinking of putting together a hall of fame thread to go along with it to showcase the previous winners of the BWPC to be up for when this week finishes.

Final Entry

Hey! Let's go to the beach for the holiday weekend!

1/320 @ f:10, ISO 200

This may change, depending on what I find over the next coupla days. After all, I live in a resort town, and this is a holiday weekend. No better combination for "summer" pics than that!

(One change, for those keeping score....)

Summer, over here, is still a ways off. For us it's still spring;

Probably 'summer' everyday for those housed in the tropics. As for those down under . . .

Southern Ontario this year had terrific ups and downs this Spring - shooting up to 25 C and then back to freezing rain and sub-zero temps. But the 'summery' look peeps out every now and then - as the sun comes out, and I see the occasional motorcycle, or drop-top (with top dropped) on the roads.

Sorry for the absence lately, TB, Solo . . . I feel especially guilty, since I started this ball rolling in the first place - and I should have kept at it every fortnight - but even a fortnight seems to disappear in the mists of time at the speed of light. Thanks to you members who managed to slip in an entry, even when there was only a couple of entries; and hopefully some of the newer members here will grab their cameras and have a shot at this - it's a good way to get to know your fellow members and make like-minded friends. It's not all about the bragging rights of winning - but more to showcase your creativity and expression. As much as there is a winner every time, I'm sure we all enjoying seeing the other contributions - I know I have; and winners or not, those pics have remained in my memory.

I'll be doing my best to send in something this time - shouldn't be hard to get a blistering, shiny, soporific, hazy, hot . . . summery looking picture.

Got to watch that ice-cream near my camera.

Cheers, photodogs!
H.

^ Ahh, that deserved a f/1.4 aperture, Cody. But that's probably just me...
Very nice.
