BAR could suffer the most from all the michelin teams at the hearing on the 29th of June and Max Mosely launches attack against 7 michelin teams....Full Story:

The seven michelin-supplied teams boycotted the event because the FIA refused to build a speed slowing chicane on turn 13 after fears over tyre safety.
But FIA president Max Mosely insists that would have been a breach of the rules and claimed the rebels had refused all alternative solutions including:
AVOIDING Turn 13 by using the pit lane each lap
CHANGING their tyres regularly during the race
ORDERING their drivers to run slower through turn 13
USING their cars speed limiters on that section
WAVING an orange and black warning flag to slow down the michelin teams on that bend.

Modely Raged "I cant understand why none of them did this because world championship points were available for finishing 7th and 8th - more if any bridgestone runners failed to finish.

Jenson Button and his BAR-Honda team face another season shattering ban at Wednsdays FIA hearing over the USGP debacle.
They where carrying a 6 month suspended ban even before the michelin teams unified action wrecked the Indianapolis race and caused a worldwide backlash.
The punishment for the teams could range from a fine, a points penalty or even a ban, but with one run in with the governing body already this year, BAR-Honda could be hit hardest of all.

I cannot believe the teams are the ones being blamed for this, The FIA just want a scapegoat to blame to save face in their most important market, the USA. And thats the problem with F1 right now, they ar thinking too much about the marketing side of things.

yeah...

but I personally think the FIA is cutting michelin slack when they're clearly willing to accept the responsibility. The teams were just trying not to get killed. You can't blame them.

wow i just had to sit through a segment in speed news with a guy a guess some nascar driver with the worst Redneck accent i've ever heard saying why nascar is better than F1:lol:, and how danica patrick would not be able to compete in nascar because shes not skilled enough.... that was the most entretaining thing i've ever seen he couldn't even say indianapolis Grand Prix.

The reason BAR is facing a ban from this season is because rules state that any team is allowed to miss a maximum of two races in one season. BAR have missed 3 so far and that means that if the teams get blamed for this it will be bye bye BAR.

BAR might aswell just pull out of this season and start thinkin bout nxt season now eh?

I'm not surprised by the statments made by the FIA . I've expected those kinds of statements from them at this point in the game.

So if the teams get banned, does that mean another race with 6 cars in it? Yeh lets not only destroy the US market, lets destroy France or GB aswell....

and while your at it destroy F1.

Michilein should be punished not the teams. give michilen a big fine or somthing, but not the teams. If they ran drivers could of died.

And the drivers could have just let off the throttle around 13 and been fine.

Are you kidding? That would never happen, plus it's a danger to the Bridgestone shod teams....

Well the car thts behind it using its slipstream wont be best pleased if he suddenlly gets a perfect view of an F1 gearbox...

Are you kidding? You dont know that. Ralf's failure was after something liek 10 laps. No matter how much they slowed down the amount of laps they have to run on might i mention, ONE set of tires its doubtful all the michilin runners would have lasted. Most probably wouldnt have

surely they could of delayed the race a week or so, then michelin could of got some better tyres out and then if the people who brought the tickets came back the following weekend, we have a race!!! but nope it never happened...

Michelin said that if there was a chicane there to slow the cars down, the tyres would last.

Some people wouldn't be able to afford to come back a week later, you can't just delay a race on the Sunday. Plus it would be an unfair advantage to the michelin teams.

Nah like give them free entry to the race since they have already paid but yeah i spose ur right bout the advantage to michelins.... unless they gave the bridgestones a head start perhaps...

No, that's not correct. That penalty only comes into force if a team chooses to miss races.

The reason B.A.R could be hit the hardest is that they're racing under a suspended sentence, and this could be adjudged to be an incident worthy of unsuspending the ban.

I think that the FIA have lost the plot. It's clear that they got themselves into a game of hardball and massively underestimated the strength of the teams. Mosely couldn't pull the "We'll never go to that country again" stunt that he did in Australia, because everyone would have laughed at him, and he would have had to have backed down. It was purely and simply that Max didn't want to be perceived to be "giving in" to the teams, even though they had come up with solutions that would still have made the Bridgestone teams score the same as they actually did.

It was the first sign that Max, in his alliance with Ferrari, may well have backed the wrong horse. The resolve of the other manufacturer teams (one has to assume that Sauber is already acting in BMW's best interests, not those of Ferrari) was called and tested and passed. Stoddart caved, but then he does now have a healthy lead over B.A.R.

This is almost more exciting than the racing.

They could've changed them, if they were a safety hazard, which they were.
