I run the PS3 at the moment on a Samsung 26" PC monitor, which is used mainly as a second monitor for a Macbook Pro for palettes and Excel sheets.

As the cockpit view now allows for full immersion, I look for an additional screen:
- no TV
- full support for the PS3 @ it's highest resolution via HDMI
- sound output jack for external speakers (internal not needed, but would be a plus)
- biggest possible screen size
- a big plus would be connect ability via DVI port for computers
- compact, light built for hanging or mounting (removable foot is a must)

What are at the moment the best buys for such a screen?

The Samsung 26" was such a budget screen (~400,- EUR a few years ago), but is now way to small.

Hard to shop for you if you are in Shanghai, but I would definitely get an HDTV and if need be a DVI > HDMI converter for your monitor needs.

Stateside right now I am seeing brand name 1080p 32" LCDs for low $300, 42" 1080P brand name LCD for mid $400, 50-55 inch 1080P brandn ame LCDs for around $1000 and 55's for $1200.

Plasmas sometimes come a little cheaper, think I saw a 50" 1080p brand name for $800 recently.

If you want real bang for the buck DLP is the way to go but good luck mounting one of those.

Also a projector gets you a huge screen for cheap, but you definitely want to make sure one can work for you before you go that route.

dam, was asking my pops to get me a 27 inch lcd monitor for my pc that i could also use on my ps3.. right now im on a 22inch lcd monitor and was thinking this was getting small lol.

But i think the 27 will be cool for me on pc sims and this since Ill just throw my g25 on the desk.
