With BioShock only just landed across the pond, I guess it is still too early for the BioShock Causes Red Ring of Death accusations to start flying just yet (but they will, mark my words). However one unlucky gamer appears to have lost his entire PC in a bout of BioShock overload.
In a post on NeoGaf that rapidly spiralled into internet phenomenon status, forum user Epiphyte describes in detail how his PC made a rapid and explosive ascendancy to silicon heaven right in the midst of trying out the BioShock demo.
"For about half a second I sit there stunned. The first thought in my mind is "Amazing, that is the greatest effect I've ever seen. They should have given this game an 11." Immediately following this a sickening realization dawns on me as I look over at my tower. Blue Smoke! The magic blue smoke that makes electronics work is escaping from my PC," he writes.
It’s a brilliantly written post so I urge to go read the original. Mercifully this is probably not a symptom that is too likely to manifest itself in many other PCs – but it might be worth checking his machine specs out in case you need to think seriously about investing in a fire extinguisher.
