I've been having a problem with my bittorrent client recently and being the technical genius that I am, I'm clueless as to what the problem may be or how to solve it beyond the basics.

I've been using a program called Bittornado to download anything via bittorrent and it's been working a treat until a few days ago. Everytime I try to download something it says "10061 connection refused" or "error connecting to tracker" depending on which site I use. I've tried searching the web but all I get is comments like "leave it running, it should sort itself out", I've tried that, I tried that the first day I noticed the problem. In fact I left it running for over 8 hours straight and it still didn't connect. I haven't been able to connect once since the problem arose and I've tried different clients, I've tried disabling my firewall and I've tried resetting my modem and connection but I can't get any bittorrents to connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried using another port in the software, and is said port forwarded in the router (given a router and an internal port forwarding exists)?

Another thought: maybe your ISP blocked the typical bittorrent port range?

Hmm, no idea why they'd block the port range. The vast majority of my downloads are game mods, usually for RFactor, not tha tI'm a prolific downlaoder in any case. Although I've just been told elsewhere on good authority that there's a problem with a few trackers source codes. Apparently there's several sites that are basically the same tracker just run through different search engines, or something like that, and that the problem is being worked on at the moment and is affecting serveral people besides me.

Hopefully that's what it is. I'm going to try and find a random site I've never used before and to download from that.
