It's a very sad day for roleplaying game fans around the world. Interplay has closed down Black Isle Studios, their internal studio that developed many roleplaying games, such as Fallout, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale. Black Isle was unofficially working on Fallout 3, which has been cancelled by Interplay as a result of the move. I hope that Interplay will souce out the creation of Fallout 3 to some big time studio (Bioware or Troika anyone) to finish. The Fallout series is one of the best games ever made and it deserves a third installement.

from what I understand BIS left interplay (whether they keep the name or not.) for greener pastures. We'll probably be seeing some excellent work from them in a year or so.

I would like to see a drag racing game .:D

I know bethesda makes one i have it but the graphics suck and the control is awful.:(

I mean an indepth from the bottom and earn your way up to top fuel classes .Earn money from sponsership and winnings . I even tried to get sony to develop it ,they sent me an email saying they dont accept game ideas from people .:banghead: :banghead:

maybe PD should make one at least they can get good graphics and im sure it would handle a hell of alot better than that crappy game thats out there now

OOOPS  sorry posted this in the wrong area :banghead: :banghead:

Nah. They closed up. No more BIS.

Well I guess I might be wrong:
From GameGossip.com

In what is another twist to this crazy story, Interplay is now claiming that Black Isle Studios are still open and that the status of Fallout 3 is "under review." Here's the full quote from Interplay's investor relations department, courtesy of IGN:

"For the record, Black Isle Studios remains open with projects pending, the status of Fallout 3 is under review, and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel will ship on January 13. Fallout lives...now that is not to say we have a new Fallout PC game coming in the next few months, but management will do what it can to maximize the intellectual property it owns and the fan base it has, within the financial parameters it must operate. If Interplay management had closed its most valuable development asset or chosen to abandon one of its most prized intellectual assets, the Company would have made an announcement."

Honestly, this is all becoming too much rumor. First, I was sure that Fallout 3 was cancelled and now I have no idea what to think. It does seem that there is something more going on here than a simple closing down of a studio. As we find out more on the true status of both Fallout 3 and Black Isle Studios, we'll let you know.
