Thats exactly the same as a HSV GTO. And I don't like it, only because its not a Holden and Vauxhall don't deserve to have it under their badge, since they don't have all the history with the Monaro.

I like the look of it in black, but it would look better, in my own opinion, if it were a shinier black. Lots of pics you got there!👍

and now Pontiac has it as their GTO in the US... same car with 3 names, wtf

Well it's the only way such a good car will make it over to the UK.

The only good cars Vauxhall sell are ones that they have made by other people.

VX220 - made by lotus.
Monaro- Made by Holden.

there's one more but I can't think of it....

Holden Monaro
Vauxhall Monaro
Chevrolet Lumina SS Coupe
Pontiac GTO

all from one car.

The Vauxhall Monaro VXR is the only Vauxhall I would ever want to own.
I wish it was included in GT4, looks damn more aggressive than the Chevy and Holden models.

I agree. I think the Vauxhall does look more aggressive. But the Holden comes in a close second! Then again, if I had to choose which one I could have, I'd take any of them! (or all! :D)

I just looked up the Chevy version on Google, and I saw a 4-door. Is this the one?

Yep, the Vauxhall Monaro looks much, much more agressive than the rather bland GTO.

I think they should have left it as a Holden. Other people will have a higher opinion of it if they don't know that it is a Vauxhall.

Pub Conversation
A. What do you drive?
B. A Vauxhall Monaro VXR
A. Hehe, you drive a Vauxhall. No luck.

Should be

A. What do you drive?
B. A Holden Monaro VXR
A. Never heard of that. What is it?
B. It's an Australian 2 door coupe with a 387 HP 5.7 litre V8 engine.
A. Niiiice :D

Your thoughts?

I've seen this before, it looks great from the front but the back isn't as great. The exhausts look a little strange.

I agree, kinda. I like it from every view though... It is a really nice, attractive car, in my opinion. I really like the wheels, too. They make the car look fast.

, looks damn more aggressive than the Chevy and Holden models.

That model is just a rebadged HSV (Holden special vehicles) so its not more aggressive because its the same damn car.

Thats just a rebadged Holden Commodore SS (VX), the monaro is a 2 door version of this. (GT4 has the later VY models of the Commodre and Monaro)

nothin beats a 6.0L Gen IV V8

Another Adelaide member, Welcome to GTPlanet.

The LS2 is a fine engine, to bad Holden dont sell in thier cars. (HSV is not included)

your right to say that the VZ Commodore doesn't have the LS2 in it (for now) but the next model commodore (VE) will have the LS2 V8 in it and that will be fords worst nightmare

So Holden has to use Chev engines to scare Ford? Yay for the Holden engineers

There's also this thing called 'new technology' that only Ford have started using and that is: Double Overhead Cams and Turbochargers. Add both of them to a 4.0L straight six and both Ford and Holdens V8's will stand bugger all chance.

Pity that Ford and Holden don't realise that if you don't make such a boat of a car you wouldn't have to make such a powerful engine for it - that's what the japanese realised..

There is some Holdens getting around with LS2 manual's and upgraded brakes, they are test mules. A good friend of mines father is a big wig at Holden's elizabeth plant, he brought a test mule home one night.

I must say DOHC's and Turbochargers arnt 'new technology' any more.
