Hmm...Well very not bad. Two major things with the editing. 1) Show the complete drift. Few things are more annoying then when you see a drift start and don't see it finish. Afew you cut right in the middle and I thought you would continue them after then next shot, but didn't. 2) Try to sync it up with the music. That's reall just a practice thing.

As far as the drifting goes...I'm going to tell you what everyone that saw my recent little clip said(and you know who you are:cool: ). Basically, you're not using a good tecnhique for weight transfer. As I said before, I was doing EXACTLY the same thing. So I'm not raggin on you. However, all your drifts were executed with only turn in and trail breaking. This does two things. Lowers your potential angle and speed during the drift and doesn't look all that good. Try using feinting to initiate the drift. You won't even need brakes(unless you need to slow down) when you're doing it right.

Like i said, I'm no expert, but this is what was told to me and overnight my technique and drifting were greatly imporoved. Send me a pm if you'd like to see my weak little drift clip.

Keep practicing man. Sooner or later we'll both have skills! 👍

I guess you could say,
1: thanx for the tip, I'll give it a shot
2: I really wasn't... THAT into it...
the song I chose wasn't really the kinda song I wanted... which makes me really sad when I watch the ones I admire a great deal. Like Gran Dorifto 2, or DoriDorito and this other one that I think is awesome "Drift of Dreams". Also... I am the only person here who drifts... no one else around me likes Gran Turismo 3 in the same way I do. My little brother, I keep trying to convince to learn, cringes when I try to get him to try... Next time i hear a song that inspires me, like my first video did, I'll make another one... but that won't happen till 4 is out... or I get someone else to drift with me...

Hey, don't be down man. That's how I felt when a few guys told me about my vid. Then I took the advise and it's like night and day. You're drifts will get better faster if you start feinting.

Don't worry about the video editing yet. To be honest. That's the least important part to me(though many think otherwise). Become a good drifter, then the video will "make itself" 👍

Actually... I don't feel that bad at all. I KNOW your right. I spent only 12 hours making the video (when I'm serious about something like editing video's, i'll be on it for like, 3 days)

I DO like how it came out though... I know I'm not the best drifter... infact, I'm prolly middle class... The video was good to me, and it really isn't a show of my skill, more like, JUST a video. however when you have a 5 minute song that is your only option... it gets a little tough to get as much fotage as you can. Also, the way I chose to do it was a pain in the arse. My best lap, 1 lap, save replay, direct PS2-> computer. which ment that if I wan't to say, "I WANT THAT DRIFT IN MY VIDEO!" I'd have to go back, hope I don't miss it (cause I can't really rewind) and capture it. And because it was one lap... you don't get some of the better angles you do if it's the second lap... anyone who makes video's knows what I mean.

I just want a friend to drift with, cause that will really inspire me to practice more then I do. *sob*

I agree, on all points.

hey, some of you might remember me but some of you might not. im an ex veteran to drifting. i was on the origional forums for gpt of drifting in gt3. your drifts are ok it's just it seems your not drifting, more of just sliding. you need more smoke and longer more chain linked drifts. if i had still had my old videos i would send them to you. but good work, keep it up, and practice on havin a smoother more fluent drift. also, feint before the turn.

I should post a video of me drifting my GT40...

There were links, but when I watched them... they really weren't angled right, and they wouldn't have fit in the video. It was a rather hard song to do it with. Not to mention the fact I was working with replays, and wasn't enthusastic enough to go and redo my drifting... wasn't that enthusiastic about it... I'm still proud of it though.

I should post my first video, then you would all see how i've improved... still though... it's not that good.

well, if I make another video, I'll be sure to try and not do that.

However in the end, though, I kinda had to cut them short. Endings should always be fast... atleast that's how I think.

Yeah, that's the challenge. How to make it look good at the end.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I'm very familar with the subject of drifting. Like many here what drew me to drift was GT3, although really it was from the other game Ridge Racer. Anywho, I hope to be of some use to this forum. Enough of that and I'll just get to why I'm here.

First off, good try for your first video. You obviosy are a fan of Initial D and you have quite the tallent if I may myself. You also have a bit of a variety of cars besides the usuall many japense vehicles I see in many drift videos (not to say that's bad or anything like that, I have an equal liking towards European and Japense cars, call me bad for liking cars from my own country the most...). You're going to persornally feel bad about it becuase like anything, 'we are all our own worst critc', take this from a guy whom is an artist/writer, I know that feeling or at least my view of it (If I ever get to make a drifting video, even with what skills I do have (I'm prob comparable to Wataru or even Ryouske from Initial D if anyone saw me drift or race at my best...mayve even Takumi...even though I relate more to Wataru or Nakazato...) I'm going to call it crap myself...), everything takes pratice, I could not help notice how with the SS Camaro you nearly screwed up on that 1st turn at Apacrot Hill (sorry for the mis-spell...), that is a difficult turn to get right, like any turn, you either get it right or screw up (and I've cleared it secuessfully so far with a Z28 Camero, Z06 Corvette, C5R Corvette, AE86, and S14...), a few other things, once you get a certian feel for taking a line you want during a drift in a turn, try praticing drifting before a turn as far as possible before the actuall one, it's difficult and not always the fastest but for some cases it looks, the best.

Don't worry about video editing too much, youre just begining and you'll get there if you keep at it, I'm sure of it.

Hmm...I guess that's about it, till later.
