Blood Omen 2 on Win7 - can't install it!

I don't really know if this is the right place to ask (sorry if it isn't), but I can't find an answer to my problem.
I found my Blood Omen 2 disks while I was rearranging my room and I really wanted to play it once again. But the game just won't install on my PC, which is running Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate.
Even before the installation starts, the following error message appears:
"Cannot retrieve necessary directory information."
And the whole thing just quits. I tried searching the Internet for a fix, but can't find anything.
Any advices, please?

Like older games on Steam, I think this comes with a built-in emulator letting it work in Win7. For the price of a fancy coffee, you can't go too far wrong

Not an option, since the shipping would cost me quite a lot. Still searching for a fix, but to no avail at the moment...

There is no shipping involved, you download the game from GoG, just as you do from Steam.
