Since about 5 years since the last CD, we just released this "LIVE" CD with almost all new material, and some ones from our original CD with some new energy and pizzaz! You can download samples from www.cdbaby.com/blueonion, all are 2:00 minutes in length. Also recently uploaded is a DVD of the same show found at http://cdbaby.com/cd/blueoniondvd.

We will be in the studio for a studio release next month so be looking for that.

Excellent, Pako, I was waiting for this!

Just listening at the moment, and it sounds very good. Everyone sounds incredibly on form ... and nice bass work by the way, your bass actually makes the album for me, especially on "Cold As You", but also in pretty much every other song. Great work to all of you guys, keep the albums coming!

EDIT: Where do you review the CD on your site, Pako? I'm assuming on the Forum, but that's currently under repair.

Cool! New tunes to listen too. The recording sounds great. I can tell a lot of time was spent in the studio turning dials.
 
Well, I think the mix turned out alright....it can always be better, it's just a matter of how much time you want to spend dialing it in. I guess for being a 'live' show, I shouldn't be too hard on the mix, I know I've heard some live recordings of Pro's with less quality on the mix so I guess it's all good.

During the mixing process, I probably spent close to 60 hours on it. Most of the EQ was kept from the original tracks from what was used for the performance. The direct outputs on the board are all post fader, and post eq so right out of the shoot I had a ruff mix ready to go. It's tough when you hear what the mix 'should' sound like, but you have a hard time achieving it. When you fix one thing, another problem props up. It's definitely a balancing act to get it all to work out.

That is great news Pako! Will have to listen when i get from work. Don't think i've ever heard any clips of Blue Onion before.

The Onions tend to bring a few tears to peoples' eyes, as the quality of this band is just cutting-edge.
