Blue, Tan or White?

In my never ending quest to better my internets design skills, I am asking a simple question. I'm working on a small project recently - a portfolio of sorts. Obviously the purpose of the site is to present the sites I've created in the past for clients. With that in mind:

Which color combination do you prefer? Is it just personal preference, or do you think the color you chose is the most advantageous to the site's purpose?

This is really just a personal education thing. I would like to better understand what and why people like the things they do.

The blue is too dark, and the white is too bland. I like the tan, and the fading effect is a nice touch that makes it more visually pleasing than the white without being white text like the blue.

If you want a more austere feel, go with the white. However, as you’ve used serif fonts, the tan would probably be best.

Thanks guys, tan it is. Interestingly enough though, I had originally designed it in monochromatic colors. Once I finished the design entirely, I then decided to see what it would look like with some color. I'll post up the finished site once it's.. Finished. 👍

You should fade the tan bottom to more of a white top. That would look hurricane-fresh. 👍
