I would really like to see the BMW M340i 2020 (G20) added to Gran Turismo 7.

The M340i would be a fantastic addition to the game because it represents a different side of the BMW 3 Series range from the M3. It is a fast, sporty road car that is still designed to be used as an everyday sedan.

Why the M340i?

  • 3.0L turbocharged inline-six engine
  • Around 370–380 hp depending on market/specification
  • Rear-wheel-drive configuration
  • 8-speed automatic transmission
  • G20-generation 3 Series chassis
  • Sporty but still practical and comfortable
  • A great balance between a normal 3 Series and the M3
I think the rear-wheel-drive M340i would be particularly interesting in Gran Turismo 7 because it would provide a different driving experience from the M340i xDrive and the M3.

I don't think every BMW added to GT7 needs to be an M car. One of the things that makes Gran Turismo special is being able to drive normal production cars that you can actually see on the road, alongside high-performance models.

The G20 generation has also been around for several years now, so I think the 2020 M340i would make a lot of sense as a modern road car in GT7.

It would also be great to have the M340i alongside the M3 rather than replacing it. They are very different cars with different characters, despite sharing the same basic 3 Series family.

Please consider adding the BMW M340i 2020 to Gran Turismo 7!

If other GTPlanet members would like to see the G20 M340i in the game, please support the suggestion and let me know what you think.

Yes please. I think it would be a very interesting addition.

RWD was US-spec only and the rest of us got the xDrive version only. That being said, it's unique to most other xDrive applications in that it sends 100% of the power rearwards until a certain slip angle is reached, then distributes some power forward to straighten out and shoot you out of corners (very fun with DSC off). I think this would be very interesting replicated in-game and would give it distinct characteristics from other RWD BMW's. Also I'm biased because it's my DD but the regular G20 is much more pleasing to my eyes than the overwrought G80 M3.

Fits the ethos of the six-cylinders in GT7. Would also add to the 3-series lineage and revisit the 330i from previous games.
