I was doing some fast laps around Spa for testing 500pp cars for the first time since 2.02 and found i was struggling to match the times before the update (around 1 sec slower, RS tyres)
I got my BMW M3CSL out because it is one of the best 500pp cars and found that where as before it could beat any car on the straights i could beat it in my s2000 which i couldn't before and am getting 1.2 secs slower per lap?

Is it just me?

It's probably just you.
It does raise suspicion though. Could it be that PD didn't include online time trials (like prologue) because of physics change, glitches and patches?

I don't think they changed the physics. Maybe you were a little distracted by the new chase cam? That's the only thing I can think of.

don't use chase cam!

Has anyone got a ghost lap of a BMW M3CSL before update that they can try to match now to see if it is true?

I have exactly the same feeling with my amuse r1 500pp (on race hard).
I am 1-2sec more slower on spa ...
edit : I always use the roof cam

wouldnt that be down to the modified tyrewear? makes the most sense to me.

Seems like the physics are a bit more refined, or something but my cars feel so much more involving than they used to feel. I like it, something about a very robust feeling when rounding a corner and nailing my marks. Cars seem less spastic and heavier than before, I wonder what changed that they didn't tell us about? Could be the revised tire damage modeling and fuel depletion rates. Possible that now when tire and fuel depletion is off cars are listed at full load instead of optimal weight which is what the game was doing(thus bringing offline and online into sync).

Interesting. And if you add the greatly reduced duration of RS tires...

I agree with you,I think it has a lot to do with the tires.

Yeah I noticed problems with my old ACR and some others as well. Seems a bit of a struggle with it now. Even the computer ACR loses to C5 Z06's now lol. Maybe its tire wear and the high torque cars kill tires faster???Dont know but a few of my cars do seem a bit off after the 2.02. The ACR stands out because Ive been using it the most lately trying to get a better setup and like OP seems harder to repeat its past fast times.

I had tyre wear off when doing Time Trial fastest laps!

It's not tyres, it's not corners i'm losing/feeling the difference it's the straights, the M3 used to be rapid and urgent and that seems to have dyed down somewhat!

Maybe PP balancing? I'll try the NSX too!

I wonder if you fiddled with your aero and forgot... It happened to me once. I was sleep deprived at the time (right after release) and just kept tilting my head, scratching, saying "my X2010 is only going 240MPH................ Lets just try this again."

Needles to say I figured it out the next day :dopey:

I feel a lot of changes since this update. And for good in my case.
For example before the update when you bought an entire customizable suspension kit you barely felt the change in the force feed-back but now if you make this and put it in the car and go to test, the car feels rigid and you can feel every bump in the road. (i have a G27) That is new to me because i made changes in many cars and you can feel it only if you 'touched' the suspension (lowered and 'made it' harder of course).

The tires! The tires changed a lot too, now racing soft tires feels quite better and also the degradation is heavier. It feels exaggerated in both cases but is quite good for not too long races (maybe this is focused for on-line races and future seasonal's with maybe 5 to 10 laps and tire degradation making it a little bit harder?...could be)

Tuning the car feels more noticeable than before in general. And the differences between tires is noticeable by a long margin.(racing soft and racing hard are way different than before and makes huge differences in a race)
