Can any one tell me if this is the v8 or the straight 6? The description starts to talk about the straight six then goes on to say they put a v8 in it for the DTM but the year they gave was 02. This car is 01, I thought it was the DTM race car but bit confused now cos they clearly said the v8 was introduced in 02. Now DTM had to be the V8 from 00 on, and this car which is 01, looks like a DTM race car, but they said the v8 was put in, in 02.

I don't think that car has anything to do with DTM though...
It was used for Endurance racing atleast in Nürburgring and Spa 24 hour races.

Edit: According to wikipedia the E46 M3 GTR was originaly made for ALMS and raced there in 2001 and was then used in 2004 and 2005 24 hour races in Nurburgring and Spa.
