I couldn´t resist yesterday evening to purchase the BMW V12 LMR, for a "measly" 3.7mill. I did the routine oil change, and suddenly the car is up to ca. 890bhp :scared:. Is that normal? If I remember correctly, it was ca. 590bhp, which sounds about right.

Has anyone had this happened? I´m not complaining, but I´d like to have the car in "stock" condition, not more powerful then it´s supposed to be.

When I bought my V12 LMR, it showed 590bhp as well, but after buying it jumped to around 800bhp. It seems that some cars show their power incorrectly at the UCD =)

That´s weird.. 590bhp sounds more like it´s real life counterpart :).
I don't know much about LMPs but I don't think that a 590bhp engine could compete agaisnt the other cars. 590bhp must be just its reported power or something.

^This.

The UCD tells you what a dealer or brochure would tell you (is there even a real life dealership for LeMans cars??? Anyway...). Your garage tells you what you really have.

Example: most Japanese cars are sold as having 280HP max. Change the oil and check your garage and you'll see most have way over 300HP :sly:

Well that sounds about right. Tell me, is 890bhp normal for those kind of cars? I´m no expert on LMP cars.. :)

Class Cs like the Minolta, R92CP etc all have around that power and sometimes much more.

I think all the LMP's have a load more power than they should. It's as if PD have them in unrestricted form (most/all race cars are air restricted or have restrited boost).

Strangley the three Premo LMP's we have are at the correct power outputs.

Which are?...

My advice... just enjoy driving it. I love mine. It is not quite as fast as my Sauber Mercedes C9, but damn it is wonderful. Hugs the tarmac. Mine is maxed at 910bhp. I use it over and over on la Sarthe.

Yea if you read the write up on some racecars it will tell you something like "in qualifying trim the car could make over 800hp"

A group C car is still a protoype that races at Le Mans, because strictly the 908 and R10 aren't LMP's either, they're LMP1 cars. The 'LMP' class raced in the mid to late 90's.

PD messed up

Toyota GT-ONE, 900+bhp From a GT1 class car

Race cars should never have been able to be upgraded, especially turbo's

It seems a bit dodgy, yes. But then most of the kids out there want to compulsively bolt turbos onto everything they get their hands on... :sly:

GT1 was a different beast back then, though I don't really know how much power the actual GT-One made unrestricted, which seems to be the only trim level in GT5. This is useful info however. I'll definitely need to get two LMR's, one GT Auto'd, one in "race trim".

Also, tuning race cars make perfect sense.

PD has given most of the LMP1 cars more power than they actually have in real life.
2001 Audi R8 816bhp in game, actual ~620bhp
2003 Bentley Speed 8 : 824bhp in game, actual ~615bhp
BMW V12 LMR as you've discovered etc...
Probably to keep them competitive with the Group C cars.

The Audi R10 and Peugeot 908 however are represented accurately(This is why the R10 is slow in game)

787B should be 700bhp (little less) stock, instead it has 900bhp. I think they are trying to artificially balance the cars...

I suppose all the cars are in the qualifying setup (raised revs etc.), which had boosted HP, as some of the real Group C cars reached over 1000 HP during qualifying.

But the 900 HP in the 787B is with the added turbo, not as the stock version.

And regarding the GT-One, it was built as a race car, and only a handful of street cars (one or two) were ever assembled. Toyota exploited a loophole in the rules which allowed GT1 class cars race with far less limitations than the LMPs, so they made a street legal homologation example (as one car was enough for homologation) to be able to run a far less restricted car than the LMPs were.
