More than is in the limited threads we've had so far.

Online perhaps sooner than we think... KY says some countries may not even get an offline version, since the online may well be ready by the time the offline version would be released there. Hope for you Europeans yet. :)

KY wants to include damage and crashes in GT5.. thinks the PS3 can handle it. As I surmised, he wants real damage, accurately based on what happens in the game, rather than pre-modeled damage like all the other PS2 games have.

Several limited edition versions coming out, including a full-sized motion mockup for Toyota dealers, a special European version, as well as the aforementioned Nike version.

Total car count is over 700! KY didn't give an exact number, but did say 700+.

Looks like they're adding news every ten minutes or so from this press event in Japan... keep an eye on it. :)

"- The on-line version
Yamauchi I think that it will do in the near future. Like [ version / South Korean / put on the market with a stand-alone and the on-line version and ] is not decided yet."

"As a future view "I think that damage expression etc. is very important in a meaning called a reality. The greater efforts in the meaning of completing it are required. In "GT5", I think that it is a theme. When it crashes, I want to do changing based on physical calculation perfectly absolutely."

It seems they have really out done themselves. That is just enough to keep us occupied for 5 maybe years untill GT5 comes out. But im betting on 7 years. LOL

I know i just found the news on IGN. GT4 is completed, and i'm looking forward to a December 14 or earlier release everyone. I hope it's true. BRING ON GT4!!!!

Would this mean that if you were going fast enough, you could actually write your car off? And as a result retire from the race? If so, then KY is the video game God.

I would imagine so. KY wants the damage to accurately reflect exactly what happened to the car on impact, from the visible damage to the way it affects control and performance. Other games don't do this, even though they "show damage". So yes, it would be possible to take yourself out of the race. In fact, I'd wager that if the car ended up on it's roof in GT (even if other damage was minimal), the race is over. After all, in real life, there's no "reset to track" button to magically put your car right-side-up again. :)

holy crap sweet! i hope accordian effects are thrown in there as well. seeing as how the half life 2 engine (i have a copy of it) can move objects based on how they are hit, like people and bullets, rockets, etc....i would soil myself to see the same kind of thing put into gt5.

Getting a little ahead of ourselves, aren't we? I mean, GT5 is at least two years away, most likely three. If you start getting worked up about it now, you'll be a nervous wreck by the time it comes out.

if anything, i hope that GT5 is atleast 4 years away. i dont want some speedjob on the game, and i want to get bored of GT4 first. i hope they make GT5 so good, that they wont even have to make GT6 until ps4.

2 years? wtf.....i hope you mean the start of the project.

gt4 could keep us for 8 years or an entire decade.

GT5 no doubt will be something very similar to GT1 or GT3. Just a taste of what the GT series will be on the next platform released shortly after launch. Maybe only like 200 cars and just a handfull of tracks with more imphasis on new features such as damage, weather effects and full online. Just enough to tide us over for another long wait  . It will more then likely be GT6, just like GT2 and GT4, to show us full potential and see a nicely fleshed out game on the new hardware.

Still good news all around. GT Kids sounds interesting. Though targeted for the young ones I cant help but be excited. GT4 being done. Online possibly being ready by a Korean release. Limited Eyetoy support. I wonder if it just recognizes the NIKE logo. 700+ cars all coming soon(for most of us :sly: ) I cant wait.

+ Delays. All up.......... Hmmm............ Carry the four...... Divide by 5.......... + 18........... Divide by 365.............. It'll roughly be 6 years away

im sure GT5 will be packed with cars. for GT4, they took really high res pictures. i think it was said they were using 8 or 9 megapixel cameras? well beyond what GT4 displays. they can use those same pictures for GT5. the skeletons/models(or whatever you call them), im not so sure if they can be reused. if the cars are gonna take on realistic damage, i dont think they can be used then, cuz they would have to add hundreds of joints to them so that when you hit something, they can bend upon impact. but if damage is not implemented, then they can use them, and improve on them, like having the grill actually go in, and same thing with bumper intakes, and inset doorjams and whatnot.

wow this is awesome news guyz.....online is now a possibility for us europeans , now the delay would be worth waiting for if we got online included

:D

But we DO get it included, just later on as a disc for those who want Online. Instead of using up valuable space on the full-game disc (not much, but it counts) PD are releasing it separately and probably replacing the coding with ... something, probably small.

I wanna be a Game Journalist whore as well :grumpy:

Polyphony actually has an amazing motion-based version of Gran Turismo in its five-star offices that journalists like us are given a chance to try out when we go in for interviews. If this attraction is anything like that, racing fans are in for a real treat. Let's hope SCE and Toyota make it available for car fans throughout the world.

Or we won't get it included & then will have to wait another 3 months on top of the online release else where, while they do 15 billion languages including "drunk". :scared:
