So, after advice from people on here, I bought a Mobil1 nsx, fitted sport softs, tuned it to 604pp (stage 3 engine & stage 2 turbo) so turned the power down to get to 600pp.

Ran the race twice without any commands & level 36 Bob won both easily & advanced up to level 37 after the 2nd race, getting me up to 20mil credits, spent them all on 2 cars & got the penniless trophy.

I then went & washed the nsx & gave it an oil change, which took it back up to 604pp, so turned the power down again to get it back to 600pp & now Bob can barely keep up! :(

I`ve run the race 3 times, never given him any commands & the best he can do is 3rd, (he`s had 5th, 7th & 3rd in that order, 3rd was a fluke, because everyone pitted on lap 2).

Why was he passing everyone at level 36, but now he`s level 37, everyone leaves him & he`s 6 seconds behind after the 1st lap?

Is it my set-up?

Like I say, I`ve only changed the oil & had to turn the power down abit, but he`s not putting the power down til he`s clear of the corners.

His quickest laps now are 2:4x.xxxs, where before, they were 2:31.xxx.

I`m obviously doing something wrong, what is it?

I don`t understand terms such as toe, castor (aren`t they shopping trolley wheels  ), camber etc. or what they do, as seeing the options for them & reading some very technical posts about them on here makes my head spin, so I don`t bother messing with them, I usually just change intake, filter, exhaust, flywheel & clutch when I `tune` my cars.

I`m a gamer, not a professional mechanic, although it seems most GT5 players are.

I so don`t know what I`m doing, so may as well give up playing GT5 altogether, as I`m obviously not intelligent enough for it. :(

Are you waiting for the water level on the track to drop to 20% before you start the race?

....and drop that "I should quit because I'm not intelligent enough" self deprecating crap. :)

nope, he won easily with it at 30% originally, now he just gets left behind.

Mine did that too. After winning a bunch at 20% I gave 30% a go and he won the first time, but the second time it was like he couldn't remember where the track was and spent half the time in the dirt for some reason I simply can't explain. So I went back to starting at 20% and my drivers went back to winning.

Granted, when I was doing that experiment I was using my mid 20 level Bobs, not my 40.

He`s just managed a 6th place, 29 secs off the leader. :(

After the race, walk away for 10 minutes. Then check that the surface moisture is <20%. Then turn Bob loose again.

just done that, track at 15% & he`s still getting left behind. :(

Everyone just pitted at the end of lap 1 & he`s now in 4th.

just got severly outbraked into the bus stop & is now down to 6th & his mood is dropping off instead of going up.

sports softs, as reccomended.

Is your car hitting the rev limiter at any time around the lap?

Car line up was randomized when you left the race to clean the car.
leave the event again and then reselect the the event the AI cars will be regenerated.

Do you have another NSX? Any NSX will do. Try changing the cars. If he still looses, then you know its your Bob and not the car. And just to be sure, run another Bob in the car. If he wins then its time to retire the other Bob I'd say.

Nope, the red dot isn`t illuminating & he`s only doing 94 through Eau Rouge!
Everyone just pitted on lap 7, so he`s finally in the lead, but only by about 5 seconds.

He was wasting the opposition when he was level 36 (got up to 8th by the end of lap 1), now he`s gone to level 37, he`s turned into a granny! :(

He just managed to win by 8 seconds.

Thank you!

Just did this, track @ 30% & he`s back harrassing people & going 2 abreast into Eau Rouge again. :)

Do a full tune to the NSX, turn the power down to 600pp, wait for 19% and that's it.

Wow! just looked in on Bob, lap 6 & he`s 10 secs in the lead!

He`s back to his old self again! :)

Nismo, give Bob racing intermediates at the start and don't ever let him pit, you'll win easily. Also, pay attention to the arrows by your dudes' heads in "my drivers" if it's pointing down he's not in the mood to race and you should pick someone else

Also I find the Xanavi Nismo Z works pretty well

My other 3 Bobs are online & although they`re all earning, they`re all down in the dumps. :(

Just started another race & Bob is again hammering everyone. :)

Try the NOMAD Diablo...that's like activating cheat mode for that race. Mine has a stage 3 turbo on it (so its running about 50% power to get under the 600PP), but if I start out my drivers on Intermediates and tell them to push for the first 3-4 laps, they'll blast through the field, out the other side, and dissappear into the distance.

My drivers do end up pitting at the end of either lap 8 or 9...but by then they're so far ahead that they're out of the pits and heading up the hill before the rest of the field gets to pit in.

As mentioned the grid you get plays an important part.
My driver looses contact if an NSX is second to last.
Try and get the Supra or a Lexus in front of you.

Have you tried using this car with no intervention? In other words, can Bob win on his own?
