I touched on this yesterday, but I thought it was me then. Now I can Bob is just being an ass about this. He is level 8. I put him in a 207 mph, 724 HP Mustang GT and he STILL manages to come in almost dead last every time! I detuned the car to around 500 HP on suggestions it was too much car for him, no joy. I put him in a '10 Camaro and a Challenger and he wins every time. Put him in that Mustang though and it's like he's afraid to pass anyone. I just can't figure it out...

My driver ( Neil Young ) is up to level 16 now. He still won't pass sometimes when the road is clear, he still brakes too early ( most of the time ), and he upshifts and downshifts like 7 times in 2 seconds sometimes. I tried driving the same car and beat his "ring" time by 40 seconds. Sometimes he drives like a complete madman even after being told to slow down 5 times. Do they ever get to the point where they can drive and follow orders?

Try test driving the car. I had the same issue with another car and when I test drove, it was hard to drive, I had to make changes to make it easy/fun to drive.

It's the pink wheels. It's gotta be the pink wheels.

Actually, they're red. The Red Bull hanger has some weird lighting going on and I had to overexpose the shot. Go figure.

I test drove it at Daytona and got it up to 207. No problems there. I took it on the same course as Bob and blew everyone away. No problems there, either. I even turned off everything and still nothing.

I guess some people just don't have good taste in cars. We'll try him again in it in another five or ten levels and see what happens.

Kevin

BTW, anyone know where I can get a '65 Shelby GT350-R?

Used car dealership or trade.

Keep in mind many traders are now just using the backup exploit so they're not "trading" anything. They cloning the car so they'll still have it after the trade. Meanwhile you'll be out of a car unless you did the backup thingy too. So don't give them too much.

Edit: Oh I second the pink wheel comment. (Yeah, I saw where you said they're red, but they're pink!)

My Bob doesn't even like my mostly stock Mustang. Couldn't imagine giving it to him even more ponies to sink his foot into....

Actually there are a lot of Youtube videos with Mustangs trying to make u-turns and they crash every time. Seems like the physics are pretty good in this game!

Mine can't drive the Masserati Gran Turismo worth beans. Beetles are beating him. It's totally pathetic.

I de-tuned it down to about 500 and he still won't play nice....
I'd say it's still too powerful. You should probably be racing smaller cars in smaller events to get his level up. Gradually break him into the more powerful cars; don't push him into the deep end.

The same with me, my bob doesn't like my 725hp Supra RZ !! I tuned the suspension and reduced the power to around 520hp, Wing and he cannot be better than 3rd in FR race in Beginner section !!!! However he won easily with the SLS stealth lol.

What did you expect, hiring Neil?
He'd better stick to guitars.

And I have to agree - the wheels look … different.

 Hahaha! Had the same thing happen to my Bob last night. I was feeling particularly vindictive, and so I decided to max out an AC Cobra, ands plop on some comfort-hards, just to see what would happen. Seven hundred-odd ponies going through two flimsy pieces of rubber must have been good for a laugh, or so I though...

Bob ain't no fool though, he kept his foot firmly OFF the gas! So cautious was he, you would have sworn that the accelerator pedal was made of the finest bone china - he didn't want to touch it, for fear of breaking it! 👍

Mine doesn't like my Maserati... In the FR Challenge in Begginer Events, i can't win if my Maserati if 446 HP... The other cars have 100 hp less +/-

I can't figure out why i can't win, and i manage to say the right controls to it. :S

Your Bob is probably European then. We don't like American cars you know :)

I'd def be afraid to pass people in that car too! Imagine poor Bob's horror as he sees them laughing at the pink wheels!

For some reason I've got a Bob who can't even keep a bone stock Mustang GT pointed straight. He's a level 16 and takes every other car I throw at him with ease but he can't hang with the Mustang. I don't get it. Does he hate live rear axles?

I honestly wonder if Kaz has anything against Stang's... or perhaps if there is bad blood with Ford over licensing or something. The mustang has typically been under represented in the games for the impact they have had in sports car history. I also have never gotten the choice of the bone stock GT as the best option in the modern offering. You get the SS and SRT8 from Chevy and Mopar but not the Ford Racing equivalent? Odd. Why in the hell has there never been a 5.0 fox body? It is the yin to all the asian yang for the 80's ricers and is one of the most heavily aftermarket supported cars EVER. And why the '07 GT? Why not the '08 Bullit? Or a Roush? Or I dunno... perhaps a Shelby made in this millennium?

Sorry... had to vent. Kaz tips his hat pretty well to most influential cars and like em or hate em the mustangs have been a huge part of the "a sports car for mortals" history.

Anyway, heres hoping for an '11 5.0, or better yet, Shelby.

Yes Mustangs are under represented but the Mustang GT is the equivalent of the SS and SRT8.

The choice of years is odd too but I guess you can say that about most American cars in the game.

Mine won the like the wind indy track with a 990hp minolta at level 0
