Body Rigidity Refresher. When do I need to do it?

I noticed in the OTHER section when tuning a car (where the weight reduction options are) there is a body rigidity refresher option of 50,000cr that explains it will restore a car's rigidity back to new conditions (or if you have a roll cage upgrade, back to the level it was hen the roll cage was installed). My question is how often or when do I need to do this to a car? After I've driven it a few hundred miles, a thousand miles? What signs will the car's handling show that will tell you that you need to restore the car's rigidity?

You'll feel the cars cornering response deteriorate so you should know when to refresh, I don't know how often it's best to do this though.

This is an easy one to answer. When you go into "other" where you buy parts, it is there. When you don't need it, there is a check mark over it, and it won't allow you to buy it. When you do need it, there is no check mark on it, so you can then purchase it. This is very useful, especially after the endurance races.

Thanks for the info I was wondering why it was checked. But I didn't know you couldn't buy it yet if you wanted. So the change isn't gradual? Its something that just happens from one moment to the other?

No problem, I was confused about it before I got the game, but it's pretty simple now.
It seems to be something that happens after a certain amount of mileage driven on the car. All of a sudden you will come back from a series and it will be unchecked, so it must be a certain amount of mileage you put on the car that affects this (I am unsure of the number).

!!!!!

Do people underestimate the power of the rigidity refresher? I for one had huge problems around the Test Track with the GT-one, it kept dragging itself into the walls and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. But then, as if God himself whispered in my ear: "Try refreshing the body rigidity.." Oops did that help! Maybe this is a stupid claim, but it seems like some people tend to forget to do this after the Endurance Races (especially after B-Specing them), then they come here looking for setting just to find out that no improvement shows on their car. Don't forget this feature!!

A related question. Assume that after you do a rigidity refresh you add a roll bar. Does adding the roll bar make it unnecessary to do another rigidity refresher down the road? Or does it at least hold off the need for a few extra miles? I am basically asking to see if anything helps the problem of having the chassis go away 3/4ths of the way through the 24 hours enduros.

no, roll bars do make the car stonger and more rigid, but you will still have the car twisted out of prime shape. The roll cage will give the support needed for a 24 hour race, you will notice a slight degredation in handling but not as much as you normally would if you dont have a roll cage fitted.

Like coolacrille said, the black race cars all need rigidty refresh because they are second hand and have been warped by the races they have already been in over time. You may find with them that they are harder to drive without rigidty refresh.
