Hey guys,

I figured I'd make a poll about bondo since that's what I picked to help me make the full size model of my hockey helmet. So, how bad do think it is to be breathing this stuff in for pretty much half of a day (so far). I have a respirator that minimizes it but doesn't block it fully. I'm kinda concerned how many brain cells I'm killing off but then again there's a lot of other stuff that I deal with that also kills them. :D I'll probably have that bondo smell in my nose for the next week too.. :irked:

I heard somplace you only use about 25 % of your braincells ...I shure hope so. wonder if they sell brain filler anyplace ? Maybe bondo would work ??

Why? You would need to smoke about three pounds of pot a week for five years to lose eighty-nine percent of your brain cells.

And I doubt you have been doing that since you were ten.

I just did some repairs to the exterior of my house with Bondo. That stuff is amazing. But the smell clearly indicates danger to the brain. I used it outside, though.

the stuff's probably pretty damn bad. Make sure to have lots of ventilation along with your respirator if you plan on spending a large amount of time using the stuff. See if you can find the MSDS sheet for the stuff. If anything, it'll be good to have around just in case.

If you don't know what an msds sheet is, I'd suggest you check here
Here's the MSDS for bondo

I spent a month last year operating a printing press. Try 10 hours a day using industrial strength chemicals, inks and solvents. I'm just happy that the MSDS sheets and the labels on the drums didn't say anything about the vapors being toxic...but then again, the smell didn't leave my nose until a week after I was let go (the guy I was replacing got back from his vacation).

 Thanks guys, I pretty much know it's bad for me... the only other time I've really used the stuff was when I first started in I.D. Tried to avoid it as much as possible, and used water puddy instead. Thanks emad for the MSDS.

Repeated exposure to high concentrations of vapor may cause liver and kidney damage.
👍

The scary thing is there are a lot of other reasons I will too, say like not getting any sleep. Although the hallucinations are amusing, well sorta. :D

I play hockey and I don't think that helmet is very good. It comes too far down and I could imagine it would be very restricting. I'm not dissin it, just giving you some input that I hope will help.

Bondo is a mini truckers best friend! I've worked with the crap a lot and my brain is fine...I think. But I always use the stuff out side.
