CAR Magazine

Looks like the issue may be worth the $10 USD, I'd like to see how they modified that (what appears to be a DB9) to fit the specifications for Mi-6 and Mr. Bond himself.

Too bad no Aston will ever top Connery's DB Mark III, but the best current Bond whip is still his 750i from Tomorrow Never Dies...

The car is a good choice for the movie but it's too late, they ruined the series as soon as they chose the title and the actor:indiff:

I am, Aston Martin's fit as being the Bond car, perfectly, handsome, powerful and British.

I personally think he should be driving a Z06. :D

j/k

Maybe he could have used a Continental GT, but the Aston is fine.

Yer, it has to be a UK or German car as it has always been, (except for one or two instances...) so good idea; a Bentley would be nice or even a fully-loaded Lotus Exige...Light-weight, Heavy-weight anyone?;)

Disagree with the German part. He's a freakin British agent for gods sake, those movies where he was given a BMW was just a total letdown. I mean geez, they gave him a plain old boring Z3 in Goldeneye (which was a letdown since they had the DB5 earlier in the movie and I thought they were going old skool) and just a 7series Tomorrow Never Dies. IF Bond was ever to have a BMW it would at least be an M3 CSL, or more recently an M6.
However, Bond should stay with British cars like the Aston. More refined and more suited to the character.

As for the DBS from various pics and concept sketches, it looks to be a very VERY nice car and worthy to be a Bond car. (but yeah I'm one of the Daniel Craig doubters) But I'm gonna love to see how they fit this super modern Aston in a supposed 'prequal', alongside the DB5 which will show up.

Yer, guess your right; unless they give him a BMW M3 CSL or so stick to British cars:tup:

But man....Pierce Brosnan...Come back!

No way....Sean Connery needs to return with his awesome voice.

As far as the recent bond cars go......they could have been a TON better so I see this as an improvement over previous movies.

It should have been a DBR9. There would be no gadgets since the sound would be it's main weapon.

...Well, in the Bond movies that took place in the United States he had American cars, so I don't think it is completely out of the question... Just think, if they do a remake of Diamonds are Forever, he can race around Las Vegas in a Mustang Mach 1 again... Sweet!

About Mr. Craig: I have my doubts as he may be the "middle" Bond alike Lanzenby from On Her Majesty's Secret Service... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for having Clive Owen take over the rold of Bond...

Absolutely, I have nothing against Craig as an actor, but he doesn't seem the part for Bond, also if I recall, thie new Bond film is a prequel, so maybe Craig's deal is a one time only offer. Clive Owen has the look the acting capability, everything.

I think the 750iL is great, and don't forget he also drove a BMW Z8.

Now while I think it's a beautiful car, Aston needs to stop basing their designs on 1 car as I've heard this car will help make design schemes for the Vanquish-replacement.

I know the design is gorgeous, but unlike Porsche, I don't think they do a lot of models with it.

The BMW's were much cooler, I remember when I saw the Z8 in one of the films...World is Not Enough maybe and it was the one of the coolest cars I'd ever seen. I hate the way Aston's look and I think it's a terriable choice of a car, Sean Connery's bond had a nice looking Aston, they shouldn't try to bring that back because it won't work.

or TVR Sagaris! that would be proper, outrageous car for him. no more bland Astons or boring bimmers..

BMW's cooler..... erm, no! In the bond films they looked bland and boring to watch. The Aston's always look better on screen.
My opinion the best car in a Bond film is Zao's Jag XKR. Beautiful example, beautiful colour.

I agree totally, no BMW comes even remotely close to an Aston for cool. Different class altogether.

No I'm pretty sure I know what I think is cooler in my eyes. The Astons are ugly, I really dislike them. However the BMW's were much better...plus they just fit the Euro style better. Like I said let Aston's stay with Sean Connery.

No one said you wern't sure what you thought. We just dissagree with what you think.

I think the DB9 is the most beautiful car ever designed. Bond should always drive a great looking sportscar that knocks your head off - it should always be a stunner that most people haven't seen before (so they go out of the cinema and go "wow what was that car? So sexy!"). I don't care what exactly, as long as it is exotic, classy and not American. Aston fits the bill better than anything, the Britishness is just a bonus IMO.

Arguably off topic, a french dubbed trailer for the actual film has been released onto the interwebs: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/703/703901p1.html

The DBS just looks like a riced out Vanquish.

I would have to disagree about the DB9 being the best looking car ever designed, i would have to say the Jaguar E-Type is the best looking car of all time.

Anyway maybe Bond will still use the AMV8 sometime.

Hmmm lets see what the BMW's did in the Bond films

Goldeneye - Z3: Was driven around by Bond and Wade, and despite having so called Stinger missiles behind the headlights all that was used was the rader.

Tomorrow Never Dies - 750i: Used as a safe on wheels, and then the only good part involving this car, chased around the garage using various devices, then crashed into an Avis office.

World is not Enough - Z8: Used for protection and missile launch platform to destroy one helicopter until being sawed in half.

They always hype the BMW's up in the film saying its got this, this and that, but the majority of which never get used, and they don't feature in the films that much. Now the Die Another Day ice chase was thrilling that Involved an Aston!
BMW's are in the film to fill a car gap. The Aston's will always be better than the BMW's, and heck... the Lotus cars are better than the BMW's. lol

Agreed on the E-Type

Bond should drive this...

BMW M6, now there is a awesomely designed car with a ton of power and a huge cool factor.

Yet imo and many other people's, not nearly as cool as a DB9, you'd pull far more birds in a DB9 as well. Also, it's not even remotely close to as good looking as the DB9 is. Bond should stick with Aston Martin's, the classiest car designs in the world.

Oh come on... E-type, its out of proportion! The bonnet is just tooo long! Its just ridiculously phallic!
Nice enough, but over-hyped and too embarrassing to actually drive - people would make assumtions about your wee wee, as it were. Even just in terms of the way it sits visually, that little cabin up one end... it just looks incredibly unbalanced to me...
