Bootloader removal and partitioning questions

Since I am addicted to FTPs, I need more hard drive space! I am going to have a Public Partition (FTP partition) and a Private Partition in addition to the Windows partition. In order to get the space I require, I need get rid of Linux (Mandrake 10), which I have 12.5GB invested in. Now, here are some questions in easy to follow list format:

1. I have Lilo Bootloader installed on my primary windows partition. If I just format the Linux partition, When I start up the computer, I get a bunch of "F"'s appearing on the screen at the time where Lilo would boot up and windows won't load. (Luckily, I had the Mandrake CD's handy for a re-install). Now, how can I safely remove Lilo Bootloader?

2. For what I require, which file system format would be the best? My main partition is currently on NTFS and my documents partition is on FAT32.

That is about it. All your help is greatly appreciated.
 
NTFS is best for non-external hdd's. External's require a different coding setup, in order to transfer correctly via USB's, so I would go NTFS for sure. It's a much more stable way to format in my experience. Also, I would completely get rid of all your partitions and start fresh. Having even a scrape of Linux on there could easily throw off even the most minute (small) Window's programs. Atleast, that's from my experience.

I plan to wipe my documents partition clean and my linux partition clean, unpartition those two partittions, and re-partition both of them, Probably with 5GB for Pictures and 25GB for music and videos.

Now I just need to get LILO off of my windows partition. They'll start a war without Linux!
 
Are you planning just to rip the files on the partitions, that you need, and just go through everything all over again? Because that's how I'd play my cards. Especially since CD-R's are a dime a dozen.
 
I have enough space on my windows partition to temporarily house all my documents and music. I have 17GB free on my windows partition. I only have about 7GB of music and pictures.

I might, however, go back and re-rip a buch of CDs in the VBR MP3 format like you suggested.
 
Starting to get the hang of dbPowerAMP? :D Even still bud, I'd drop all partitions, and start from scratch. I know it's time-consuming *extremely*, but in the long run, you'll thank yourself for it, because all would be clean.

I thought about it, but there is a lot of stuff that I want to keep that would take forever to find again. I will definately do a complete format before I go to college this fall.
 
Could I use any XP pro CD, or would I have to use mine that has my CDKey? I sort of lost mine... :indiff:

no girl yet, i'm still all alooooonnne :'(. And about MSN, i'm almost always on it. It's just that you never see me or i'm off playing atv offroad 3 or gta vice :)

If you want to stop staying up, maybe you should put down those pics of me you're always looking at.
