So I finally spent the time tuning a car and running some time trails (arcade) around Bathurst. Took about 3 seconds off my time, all sweet. Then when i entered a race (sport) BoP kicked in and my changes to gearing and downforce all reverted back to standard. It was a Gr.4 race, dr B Sr B.

Is this standard or will it happen in all races? Feels like the effort was a total waste of time.

Everything that i've found lately that is host by GT will be locked to Bop,Most each day i do these then go to the Lobby section, set my search to Gr3,Gr4 then lobby hop? Another alternative is to join online series on this page? I'm trying to race the Porsche Bridgestone series but i'm afraid it's already full?

A few weeks earlier, we tune everything except power and weight.
I don't know why PD does not allow us to tune...

Yeah i thought you used to be able to tune everything bar power and weight. Hopefully they bring it back for the daily races... I don't get the same feeling of accomplishment from the lobby races, tho i have only just found out they exist!

I guess the daily races just keep it simple for those that don't want or know how to tune, and those that do can race via the lobby

I wonder about this. Yesterday I wanted to see if I can tune my car in My Garage and then enter it into the BoP Daily Races. Originally my Beetle started the race on the rev limiter in 2nd gear. After I tuned it, I started the race in 3rd. I wonder if there’s a bug that keeps tunes even though it’s supposedly “BoP” for Daily Races. Maybe worth testing, I may be completely wrong and it may be in a different gear for another reason.

The gear that the car is in when it switches out of "auto drive" on a rolling start is determined by your car's location on the track (which is determined by your starting position on the grid). If you're at the front of the grid on a rolling start, (for example, at dragon's tail) you will be starting in the middle of the finish line straight, whereas the cars in the back of the grid will be starting near the braking zone before the previous turn. Auto drive will start your car in whatever gear it thinks is appropriate for the section of track you're on.
