Borderlands 3

[Whitestar]

I had actually forgotten that I was well into this game before I got distracted with something else. Need to pick it up again.

Absolutely, so many distractions Just sifting through some of my archive pictures got me all keen to go back in there

New Borderlands Twitter header. Looks like a 4 to me... 🤤

Any interest in BL4? I just bought it. I'm liking the look of everything I'm seeing so far.

I got it for free with my graphics card so I might as well play it. Otherwise nVidia paid Randy for no services rendered, and I can't have that.

Very much looking forward to Borderlands 4, been a big fan of the series since day one!

It's probably going to be something I pick up further down the line. BL3 was the best of the series so far in terms of gunplay but the character, story and quest design was a real struggle to get through at various points, so much so that I only did one playthrough of it and haven't touched it again since...

Having a hard time getting into it. I skipped 3 because it sounded like ass but there's some changes here from 2 that I think I'll need a bit of an adjustment period for. The interface is also quite a bit worse than 2s; very slow and overdesigned.

It's also extremely demanding and I'm not sure why based on how it looks. It doesn't appear to be using much ray tracing because it's got kinda crap SSR on all the water.

I’m enjoying the game but I do wish the performance was better. Frame generation doesn’t look too bad at 2x thankfully.

New nVidia drivers seem to punch it up a bit. Get a sniper rifle in a random drop that's like the Buffalo from Sir Hammerlot's Big Game Hunt and starting to get back into the groove of things.

I'm having fun with my first playthrough. I've decided on a build direction. A Kinetic-Bleed build with Vex. It's working great already at LvL25.

Feels a bit different than previous games in the series in some ways and I admit it took me a few hours in for it to really click, but I am hooked to this game now. I picked the character Vex as is tradition for me to play as a Siren in Borderlands.

I am still only in the first area of the map trying to wrap up as much as possible before moving on. I will say that I am not the biggest fan of the large open-world thing (in games in general I find open world maps to be overwhelming and mostly empty). I know the other games had large maps but not at this scale and there were multiple, unique but mostly contained locations to visit. I suppose they simply removed the barriers between locations and now have one large area, but still, so far I miss the diversity of environments.

I also find the game a bit tough and bumped it down to easy from normal, since I really struggled at times especially with the first main boss fight. I am fine with that, I am not as good at videogames anymore and play them as a means to relax/stress relief and not for a challenge.

Finally got my Vex to Level 50, Vile Bounties are definitely the way to go from 30-50. My Vex bleed build is insane, Especially with the Penetrator knife.

My first two Phosphenes. I slipped up not grinding the Big Encore the last two weeks. Definitely the best way to farm them out. Eats up the Eridium though.

Well, I checked back a year later (Borderlands Franchise sale on Steam) only to see recent reviews at 49%, UE performance tax is still incredibly hefty and this as the most helpful review:

I think I'll pass.
