i picked the game up on friday and am a level 16 hunter. I'm really enjoying it. I like the wasteland feel and locations, they really set the mood. I found that if you start a mission that is above your levels, the enemies and mission in general is VERY difficult and takes a lot more shots/time to kill them, which sucks as the shields/health can regenerate. I feel the game may get repetitive over time, but so far i'm really enjoying it, love finding new weapons and deciding to keep/drop/sell them. I enjoy searching the landscape for hiden boxes with money/amo/goods etc. Haven't played online yet, have been going at it solo. When i'm done with the game or need more to do, i will look into the DLC. :)👍

Its MUCH more fun as a co-op. Before you start each mission it will tell you the difficulty. Easy, normal, tough, or impossible. As you level up the harder ones will change to easy.

Oh I already said this above. Didnt mean to repeat.

I rented this game, and hated it. It was way too hard and way too frustrating.

You see, I hate that. I hate the idea of being dependent on somebody, especially when playing a video game! Why didn't they make the solo campaign much easier, and then more difficult for co-op? The way they made it was stupid.

You see, now I wish I knew that BEFORE I played this game. If they said something about it in the beginning, I didn't hear it. They should of made a point about this with the hints. I never looked for the difficulty ratings for the missions because I never knew they were there. Again, rented games don't come with manuals.

I was doing some serious ass kicking with my Solid Sniper (LOVE that name) which had a 116 power rating. One shot kills some creatures and three shot kills on all others. Then, for some stupid reason, 30 shots wasn't enough! LAME! Obviously, I played the wrong missions. So, why didn't they limit the missions if you didn't have enough experience? I was only level 11, when I guess I played a level 25 mission? I didn't even have rocket launchers, yet. My best shield couldn't be used because I needed to be level 13. Now, if they made weapons limited to certain levels, why not the same for missions? STUPID!

I couldn't put this game back in the mail fast enough.

They did make it harder in co-op. More co-op partners means more enemies and more loot. Plus the enemies are harder.

This is what happened to you......

Each area tells you in advance if its easy or hard. I said this 3 times now in this thread. I have no idea how you missed it. Dont go into the areas that are too hard for your character. If the mission sais "hard" or "impossible" then it says that for a reason. To access your missions just hit the back button. In there it shows the difficulty for each mission. You are missing out on a truly awesome game. Plus before you shoot an enemy it will have a level number right next to it. If it shows a skull or ! mark you probably wont beat it and you are in the wrong area. Or you are not leveled up high enough to fight that enemy. More than likely in the wrong area..

Maybe, I didn't read this thread before I got the game? 💡

Obviously. But again, I never noticed the difficulty rating of the missions, so how would I know the ratings were there?

I knew about the scope thing. However, every time I looked through the scope, I only saw a number and a health bar. There was also a blue bar underneath the one bad guy I couldn't destroy. I have no idea what that blue bar meant. Again, I'm not a mind reader or a mighty seer.

It tells you in giant, coloured letters what the mission's difficulty level is when you go to accept it. I think even when you look in your mission log it tells you too.

Wasn't giant or colored enough, I guess. I noticed what the mission was about, the reward if any and the XP. That's it.

I was the opposite of you, i saw the difficulties at first showing Normal, hard, impossible, trivial etc, but i didn't notice the level thing at first. After a few missions i noticed to the Left of the difficulty rating is the level rating and i noticed the difficulty level changing from hard to normal after leveling up. It really is a good game. Even on some levels that say Normal, they can still be pretty hard and you can be overwhelmed by enemies. The Blue bar was the Enemies Shield, the Red bar is the Health. I'm currently in the New Haven area, level 23 Hunter if i remember, i Just collected the 24 alcohol bottles for the scrap yard guy. There are some tough enemies in that area, the spider things with the hard shell are a pain, i don't find it that easy to get around them and shoot them in their back/critical spots. Good game though, the setting really puts you in the barren wasteland struggling for survival feel. :)👍

Borderlands 3rd DLC.

I played it for about an hour and a half and wow is it tough. We had 3 level 50 characters and didnt have a chance. I went from having over 5 million to 2 million from dying so much. So far havent really found any good weapons yet. I am sure better weapons will come later in the levels. They were bragging about the size of this dlc but a lot of the size is driving around. At this point I am not sure what to think of this DLC. Hopefully it gets better. :indiff:

I love this game. Level 61 now which is the max level. I any of you would like to add me feel free. PSN is my user name.

So I was wondering if anyone on the PS3 was still playing this game because a friend of mine bought it and we've been playing a lot in split-screen co-op (so far we're lvl 26 I'm a soldier and my friend is a hunter) and I'm really enjoying the game and would like to buy it, but since he has a 360 and I have a PS3 I can't play with him online and probably will stick to soloing the game unless I get someone not totally random to play with.

Also how good is the game when playing alone so far I've had a blast but I feel it kinda loses the point and must get harder since there's no one else to pull the aggro.

If you are playing alone, Borderlands is not as fun. Its MUCH more fun with friends. Especially as a 4 player co-op. You also get a lot more loot.

Over a full year after the last update... sorry for the revive, but is anybody willing to team up with a total newbie and show him the ropes, have some fun? My PSN is over there <------ if you are interested. Microphones are preferred, but I won't turn you down if you don't have/use one.

Has no one noticed the patch that has turned co-op MP back on? fairly quiet out there, but by late yesterday a lot more people were in the lobbies, plenty of play through 1 or 2 games at all levels to choose from.
