Well done on the new purchase 👍

I really, really, really want that phone. Sadly it's out of my reach till I get some major cash flow improvements.

Thanks. I spent just about all of my graduation money for the phone, but I've had my eye on it for a few weeks now. I guess it's better than wasting $250 on another set of Logitech Z5500 505W 5.1 surround speakers and connecting them up to my existing set.

Your sig is hilarious, btw.

Well, I got the phone this afternoon and so far I am very impressed. The FM tuner gets better reception than my shower radio. Good stock ringers, excellent call clarity, great volume levels, nice themes, great camera for a phone. Probably the best $300 I've ever spent.

Congratulations on your purchase!

I've got a Sony Ericsson W800i which is basically the same thing but in Orange and White, definetely the best phone i've had.

The K750i is a very wise choice! The 2.0MP camera is extremely good and captures extremely good pictures even in the dark, it's still pictures are also better than that of some of Nokia's high end models such as the N90.

Lots of good things to say about the K750i, nice one once again ;)

I've had my Sony Ericsson T610 for a while now(it's ancient, I know). I really like both your phones, but I'm in a same boat with E.E., I'm afraid!

Same boat!? I'm in the little wooden fishin boat and you've just got a plank...

Why? Because I've atleast got a T630 :P

The K750i, like the T610 was a phone revolution. It has loads of features and a really decient camera, ive got one at should atleast last 3 years....

 I'm going to be upgrading by the end of the year to the K790. Only problem I've had with the phone so far is that since it doesn't support 800mhz frequency, I get no network coverage in this one part of town, but that doesn't really bother me because I have no reason to go over there anymore.

K790 = 3.2mp camera and quad band among other things...👍
Cant wait.

 Is that the scary side of town that no one longers goes to! :nervous: ........ no mobile signal and suddenly its a ghost town!

Yeah the K790 looks sweet, I like the new cybershot branding and the faster processor that I think is inside it...... it also uses the new micro memory stick (the M2)...... its like the smallest thing you have ever seen!

EDIT: Oh Integra, if you dont already know on the K750i you can activate the camera light just by pressing star (*) key when in the camera mode..... you would be suprised how many people that own this phone dont know that, my friends were like thats amazing!

I use this phone, be interested to see how you go on with it, so far I have only had trouble with the joystick not working when dirt gets inside it (Got to give Sony ericsson a 1/10 on that one as they havent learned from previous models) and sometimes when transferring music files to the (upgraded) memory stick the files dont appear until the 3rd attempt which is infuriating....

One thing I would highly recommend though is to ditch the appalling standard headphones and replace with some Sennheiser MX500's, mine were £15 delivered and with them the sound quality is actually quite good!

regards

David

P.s my phone was dropped into a pint of water last night so will let you know if it survives, not looking good so far....

Thanks for that information, didn't realise that you could do that and it also works on my W800i!!

Dave_George, your having the same problem like my mate. When he transfers music to his phone from his computer, either some of the files appear or none at all, it could be a random issue with your particular phones or a firmware problem.

The K790 looks like a very decent phone i must say, i was however looking at getting a Nokia N80 as it has Wi-Fi, better resolution, Symbian OS and looks gorgeous in black. Looking at the K790 again, i can see it has a better camera with autofocus, RDS radio (instead of stereo FM radio), 72 Polyphonic Channels and a better battery life than the N80 so i might have to re-evaluate!

I think Dave_George may mean that you keep the bottom part of the standard SE headphones and replace the top part with the earphones. Therefore the new 3.5mm jack of the MX500's will insert into the bulky bit of the bottom of the SE headphones.

I disagree about the camera quality... I'm mighty impressed with the new N71 as compared to my K750i, and I think many of the new N-series could probably kick its butt. That's unless SE has upgraded the camera since I got mine... in which case, I'm royally pissed and want a trade-in...

As compared to anything else, though, the camera is really good. MP3 is a great bonus, and now that I know about the Seinheisser (whichever way it's spelt), I'm going to go a-hunting for those.

One thing, though... once you get yours, upgrade your memory stick... I filled up my stock one so fast, I had to download at least once a week. Now I've got a 1GB one, I'm pretty happy... but now that my Aunt has a 2GB for her w810i, (and for almost the same price), I feel a wee bit cheated.

Oh... download Opera Mini... terrific app and way better than the stock browser, even if it won't let you download files.

Hi guys,

Info on the Sennheiser headphones
HERE

they connect with the aid of a simple adaptor such as this one HERE

The phone also has no problem driving a pair of high end Sennheiser's that I own (see below), just struggles if you like your music really loud, I find the volume is adequate and the quality is good for a phone:tup:

As for camera quality, its one of the best phone cameras I have come across in low light conditions, and I have attached a picture taken with the phone from the top of the ufo tower looking out over the city of Bratislava to show what its like in daylight conditions, more than adequate for me!

Oh and the K750 seems to have survived being completely submerged in water:tup:

@Niky, downloaded the Opera browser, very good thanks for the heads-up on that one!

regards

David

Nice to hear that it lived... got to try that with mine.

As for picture quality, I'll dl some pics my brother and I took to compare his N71 and my K750i. At first, I thought the K750i was way inferior, but after extensive testing, the difference really isn't that great.

Despite my feelings on N71 quality, I still believe nothing else comes close to the K. 👍

Would like to also add as it might be of interest to any K750i users...

I last night flashed my phone using the davinci client DETAILS HERE and put the w800i software onto it.

This is great for two reasons:

1) On start up you can choose to start the music player functions only and not the phone functions

2) You can use the w800i "disc to phone" software - after quick testing last night I got a few albums across 1st time without losing anything, the w800i has a bit better software for listing your artists and tracks aswell.

Cost me 19euros and you do it via the supplied cable.

Well worth considering if you value the phones music player section:tup:

Obviously worth noting that it may void your warranty if your phone is new, however you can always flash the old software back onto it in the event of any problems. Takes about 10 mins...

I've got one of these puppies too.

Since you're all experts on these. What button do you press went you want voice dialling when NOT connected to the headset? Is it possible?

Im not sure about that one, voice dialling something I have never used, as most folk I call are usually in my recent call list anyway and so just a button press or two away...

Nice new phone! MP3 capable, as well as Bluetooth, I presume?

Of course:tup:

I'm not sure about the K750i, but with my W800i i press and hold down the lower volume key and then the screen 'please say name after the tone' pops up!

Yeah to activate voice on the K750i dial press and hold either the up or down volume keys from the main screen until you here the beep.....

Yeah, I got my W800i last week and although it's working flawless I'm thinking abouth updating its firmware. I actually tried to the other day. I downloaded the update software client from SE's website, installed and followed the instructions (turn off the phone, take the sim card off, replace the battery, hold C and plug the cable), but once I do that the phone turns up by itself and the computer detects a new hardware to be installed, although I have all of the phone's drivers installed already and I can use it with no problem to transfer data.

I tried that a couple of times but it was useless, I don't know if I did something wrong. I also read you can screw up your phone if you don't do the update correctly so I don't want to force anything. But if someone here knows what I might be doing wrong I apreciate the help. :)

Sending you a pm on this one:tup:

Yeah, thanks for the help, David. I just tried it again and the driver I need to install was one I hadn't yet, so the Updating program can recognize the phone. Turns out though that the firmware I have on my phone is the latest one. :P
