can anyone please suggest a solution to a problem i am having with a few cars? In particular my 421hp 740i and 333hp S3. When accelarating in 2/3/4 gears, the rev counter bounces on its way to the redline. I dunno if it affects acceleration, but it is disconcerting nonetheless. It is not the clutch plate, so again

Yeah, that happened in the Usnia Jecs Skyline , but all i did was let off the accelerator for about half a second and then put it back on, it should help, but you've probably tried that:rolleyes:

yea dis happens in some skylines...try turning from left to right til u rev smoothly...awkward but it works for me:)

thanks ;) but that will sorta end any hopes of a close race....and i will be pulled over for DUI

Happens to me on every car all the time...just about to throw out the FF wheel and buy a new one as it doesn't happen on the hand controller..I've done 2 completed GT3's and aprox 4 others to 50% or more so I've logged a few Km's, along with V8 supercar and GT Concept so I thought the wheel was stuffed ie contacts etc, now I have to jag the wheel to change gears ..it really stuffs up corner entry....any others had this with the Logitech FFB wheel?

Appreciate any input from the gurus :)

 , ok , errr...

you might have tampered with the gear ratios...or it could be the ride height is too low and you are scraping the ground ;)

Yup yup. Had this problem dragging with the 67 vette and the shelby cobra. The rev bounces so much. The range is prolly from 5,000 to 8,000. It makes for very unpredictable acceleration. Consider the following:
Since the higher the rev the better the accel generaly, you should try to maximize revs prior to accel. But in the case of bouncy revs, you could start off too low. Starting off low not only makes it harder to accel, it makes it harder to bring revs up.

DID YOU KNOW THAT:
Having the rev up past redline during 1st gear start in GT2 is the best way to accel a car? The higher the rev, the better the accel. And you couldn't blow an engine in GT2 if your life depended on it.

NOW YOU KNOW!

I think... they are talking about something else. You´re describing wheelspin right? They´re talking about a problem that some cars have wich consists in shaky acceleration with the rev counter going back and forth in a space of something like 1000 rpms but it has got nothing to do with wheelspin if that´s what you´re talking about; I´ve never seen the shaky thing in the vette or cobra.
Anyway think about it, 4wds with crazy wheelspin?
