Not sure. If you use the Delta Integrale in GT4 prologue in first person view, you will hear a rather loud pssshhh. I'd say that you'll have to get a turbo upgrade to actually hear anything. BOV sounds will probably only be present in first person view and not third person like always.

turbo charged car's bypass valve is recirculated for production models. it is illegal most places to vent the valve. I know first hand, living in california. With turbo upgrades, you should be able to hear it, since they replace the valve with metal ones that have stiff inner springs to prevent boost leak.

Would be nice if we could choose different sounds.. like the "Pop" on the amuse supra or QUAAAAACK or piKAchu-chuuu-chuu-chu.

you mean like RFL's/SSQV's/etc.?

it would be nice touch in the sound department. from the videos and sound clips i havent heard anything that great or a real turbo spooling or blower whining.

maybe they will have turbo accessories....like a duckcall and fernco coupler package. lol.

When backing off the throttle on turbo cars (feathering or changing gear) you should hear the waste-gate 'chattering'. Sure this was the case for the Lancia in Prologue, although the 'phsst' sound wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Once someone's unlocked the Audi Quattro rally car in GT4, they should be able to confirm a sound not too dissimilar to some rare exotic Amazonian screeching bird when shifting! Thinking about that, any of the old Group B rally cars should produce a similar sorta sound...

Has anyone got that Audi yet??

I'm curious about the blow off valves which are like a high pitch 'SQUEAK!'. The only game which I heard one was Project Gotham 2 on the Porsche GT1.

If anyone has checked shirakawa akira's downloadable engine sounds thread, make sure you download the EVOIIGSR stage2turbo. you can hear the turbo and you can make out the blow off valve sound when changing gears and when the throttle is released. its not very loud, but someone said its louder from the outside, and maybe if the turbo was a stage 3 or 4 then the BOV would probably be louder.

When i first got my wrx. I looked for a bolt on part just i could have something. The BOV caught my eye first and i purchased a Turbo XS RFL BOV. Installed it it sounded cool but my car kinda sputtered between shifts and at idle. With my stock BOV in cylced the air back into the the air before the turbo. The RFL just vented into the atmosphere. This causes a problem because the ECU is tuned for the air ratio that the air mass sensor read when it entered the intake. Now a percent of that air is gone and you have a high fuel to air ratio. It sounded great but made my car run rich. Rich is bad for performance obviously. I researched it and found out that you don't want anything but stock for a wrx if its under about 300hp. I removed the BOV and my car ran fine once agian. My point is stock turbo cars you won't really hear much of a niose. And even if they have a BOV mod on GT-4 they will proably not be 100% atmospheric. If they use a bov in the game it will be a recirculated model or a BOV that you can tune from fully atmospheric to fully recirculated. In otherwords if you can tune the ECU to take in account for the loss of air its great but if you can't its a waste of time and money.

My Skyline has a shielded HKS pod filter and because of that the induction noise and the stock plumb back bov is very loud. So in some cases you dont need many mods to make the loud blow off.

i have a injen intake and it makes the turbo noise loader and you can hear the BOV but its not the noise that these people are talking about. My BOV with my aftermarket intake is louder but a atmospheric BOV is 10x LOUDER!. Its way louder that the engine noise, i used to scare people i was passing on the road because mine was so loud. I had my freind stick his head under my hood and i reved up my engine and the BOV went off in his ear and he couldn't hear for a while. That was stupid, i could have blown is ear drums or something.

Yeah I have a friend with a 180sx and his bov is like that, I like to keep away from his car when Im driving.
