Is anyone experiencing weird brake pressure issues with their T500RS? What I am experiencing is that the brake has a delay after pushed to be engaged fully, then during driving I have to push really hard to get the brake to activate all the way. As annoying as these issues are I can live with them, what is beginning to drive me nuts is the brake pressure falling off when releasing the brake pedal. I will be on the brakes 100% going into a corner, then release a little to trail brake, only to find that I have absolutely no brake resistance showing up on my screen even though I'm still applying good amounts of pressure to the pedal. It seems that the brake pedal falls to zero pressure once I release the brake even the slightest amount. My driving style uses a lot of trail braking so having the brake fall off so drastically is making me very inconsistent...and frankly it's driving me nuts.

For informational purposes I have tried the brake with the "real brake mod", in and out, and with various types of springs...just to get the right feel. I've also upgraded the wheel to the latest firmware #37 and the pedals still are acting weird. The last thing I can think of is to take apart the pedals and check to see if the brake pedal is on the proper gear cog.

Has anyone experienced this with their system?

Is this how the T500RS system is supposed to work?

Any input or recommendations would be appreciated - I don't want to hate my new and very expensive wheel and pedal set. I'll even put the flame suit on for this one...but at this point I'm preferring my old DFGT pedals, which isn't what I expected.

Thanks for any advice!!

Sounds like a calibration or defect issue. Supposedly the pedals have to be fully depressed in race, each time GT5 is booted up in order to properly calibrate the pedals in the game. I find that odd since it is not mentioned by either PD or Thrustmaster that I have seen, and that seems like an important thing to know if true. I do in fact do this as well, and have entered the first turn on my first race before and blown right through it when not using this method of calibration.

My T500 pedals don't work like yours at all. The pedal has to be depressed a good deal in order to achieve 100% braking and if it is let up slightly the brake meter on the hud reflects the decrease accordingly.

I had this same issue with mine. It did stop doing this and calibrates with just a few pumps now. What I did was put a thin piece of rubber about mid spring (on the brake mod) and packed the spring with some bearing grease.

I just took the whole pedal assembly apart and found out my brake was 1 cog forward on the black gear vs. the gas and the clutch. I made the change on the gear and I'm ecstatic to report that the problem seems to be fixed!

Thanks for the responses guys and thanks especially to Z06fun for the tip on the gear.

Cheers!!

Edit: Z06fun was on the mic with me in an online room.
