I'm trying to tune a lightly modified Nissan Skyline Coupe 370GT, and I'm having issues with understeer. Whenever I brake, I get bad, bad understeer. Any suggestions?

Move your brake biased towards the rear.

Sometimes it's better to have more strength on rear brakes than in front, because car isn't oversteer enough to lose grip, and you'll don't have problem with understeer at curves :)

Tip: brake before curve, not while turning - you'll avoid understeer too.

Either add more brake force on rear wheels or try braking before the corner.

Personally I'd try braking before the corners because when you switch your braking force to the rear you usually end up with a slow brakes.

Although that is not a very viable method if you don't fully remember the track.

Ease off the brake pedal just before you want to start cornering, this will allow more of the tyres grip to be put into cornering.

What suspension is on this lightly modified 370GT?

There is one thing that's not brakes or driver input that affects this as well. ;)

CSLCAR whats your secret. What suspension setting help keep the tires from turning bright red when trying to turn in on the brakes..:) Ive been playing with damper settings and have been able to make the tire get less red and slide enter turns but havent nailed it down all the way just what setting makes this better.. Please give a little expert advice...Take a look here.. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=257499 I just read your theory on shock dampers and I think you might be explaining what I have kinda found out.. Did I understand that if you want to tighten a car up on corner exit you would set the front at say 4/4 and the rear at say 7/7 And if you want to make the car rotate
more you would set the front higher than the rear say 7/7 front and 4/4 re
ar?? First # being extension and second # being compression..I have found that with damper settings at extreme off set like that have made my car handle so much better I just hadent figured out what was doing what. Please let me know if I got what you were saying.. Also what is your take on roll bars Low front high rear understeer or oversteer??? High front low rear understeer or oversteer??

Perhaps LSD
I don't believe the LSD changes the actual handling characteristics of cars in GT5 at all. Just the manner in which it loses traction, and what happens after.

The shock compression being set to higher in the front than rear will increase rotation under any type of deceleration, whether lift throttle, trail braking, or hard braking in GT5.
