Before a significant decline in the number of fans starts, we need the TT on everybody's favorite track.

I suggest two sets of TT with irregular PP restrictions to finally have some categorized TTs.

Take your pick for two sets of 4 TTs between historic cars TT, Hot hatch TT, saloon cars TT, sports-cars TT, super car TT, concept car TT, Touring cars TT, LM race cars TT with 720pp and no formulas, formulas TT, and finally X1 TT with soft Racing tires to finally set the defining times on this track.

It is beyond me why this has not happened yet.

Not my favorite track. Mine is either SSRX i think its called, or else the Monza circuit.

One with a street car and one with a race car would be great ... no tuning ... same car for everyone.

Agreed. ^

They could make 50 Nurburgring TT's a week - each for a specified stock car with no tuning allowed, if they wanted to, so I have no idea why they don't at the very minimum do two each week, one for a road car and one for a race car. No tuning allowed.

I would run whatever PP challenge they give us. The ring is such a beautiful piece of land, historically speaking. That track never gets old. I run it 30 plus times a week, and still dream of it at work. I would ride my bulldog around that track if they let me. Bring on TT's for the Ring!

I think we need one TT and one A-spec per week, maybe one B-spec every 2-4 weeks (if at all, and make them MONEYMAKERS!)

Seriously though, the Nuerburgring is seriously under-represented on GT5! Maybe all of the Japanese fans don't like it too much, that's why we get stuck with tracks like SSR5 and (2 weeks later) SSR5 Reverse perhaps? I enjoy SSR7 way better anyways.

I think there should be 1 TT with 400-500 pp cars, and one with 720-750.

EDIT: not necessarily with a PP restriction, just cars around that caliber.

I'd much prefer non-racecars on the Nuerburgring though, it's not a track that's really meant for such high performance cars anymore. 99.5% of traffic on the real Nuerburgring are 'regular' (if you can call ferrari's, Audi R8's, regular) cars anyways.

NO , some people hate the nurenbergring !.
James May said some things about it , i tend (in this case) to agree with him !

There was a TT on nordshleife 24h months back, but people were driving under the track

Before a significant decline in the number of fans

Already occurred a long time ago.

I do agree with the Nurb being a great TT track, but that won't get casual fans back into the mix. Only us die-hards and semi-die hards remain.

Bit of a paradox, advice on the world's most demanding and difficult track from a man nicknamed "Captain Slow"... also he's probably exaggerating :) But I can sympathize with those who don't enjoy the 'Ring thus: When I bought GT4, when the Nordschleife was added, I found it too complicated to enjoy - and so many corners are blind so you can't really improvise. Then, when trying to complete DM34, which took me over 50 attempts though I thought I knew the track somewhat, I disliked it again. By the time GT5 Prologue came out, I was replaying DM34 for fun because I could always win.

Just keep doing laps, I promise it is worth the effort.

A Nurb TT would be great, and would be better with a complementary 2 (or more) lap A-Spec seasonal races there.

I firmy believe that the romantic idealism of a TimeTrial on Nurburgring far outweighs the actual practicalities... in plain English, "It sounds much better than it actually is to do".

Over 6 mins per lap and so many corners to get a red lap on. Not sure my head can take the pressure these days.

Haha I agree, this his a b*tch to get a white lap instead of a red lap.

I look at it this way, you will drive it now as if you were driving it with your own car and make sure you don't go off track, making it a bit more realistic.

Tried it with the Diablo nomad, one second down first try and ten seconds under the second try, you kinda learn the dangerous spots quick when you restart every time you go off.

I find that whenever I get a red flagged time it usually would'nt have been for an infraction that improved my time overall. I usually just keep racing til the end just to see what my time could've been.
My first lap on this race I was red flagged early(2:30)and just kept on til the end and I finished thirty seconds better than gold.I knew from that lap that I could gold it easily by simply being more careful and not rushing it and that's what I did the very next lap.

Yea got me first clean lap. Never had trouble getting under the time, just my tail friendly Audi lms likes to spin when clipping the grass!!

I find myself wondering how they settled on 7:48 for the gold time. I know gold isn't usually very hard, but you usually do need to go around the track reasonably correctly to get it. In a 600pp race car(let alone de-tuned faster ones) you could spin 6 times and still beat that, or park at the Karussel and go get a drink while still getting gold.

I know half the challenge for many is just getting around cleanly, but 7:48 should still probably be silver or even bronze.

I'm not really complaining, only making an observation. I'm just happy to have the TT finally, wish they did more. Too bad it's race cars only, might be a fun challenge in a 500pp stock street car. I suppose I can try de-tuning the 2J I recently got, or try beating the gold time in a slow little race car. :)

Just before entering the track for the first time, while it was loading, I was praying for a gold time not being below 6:30...I gotta say, I was a little disappointed when I saw the actual gold requirement!💡

But hey, we can always do it with a slower race car, like you said.

We could even create a thread with the gold times of people's slowest race cars hp and pp wise :)

True that is, as a TT nurnberg is ok (even in my book, and me sometimes is called captain even slower -LOL-) but for racing against other cars the ring is far too narrow, especially with GT5 collision rules, where looking at opponents can result in disqualification (now i am exaggerating for humoristic reasons) But to use nurbergring as a race track where contract between cars isn't allowed (GT5 did do such imo) no thanks PD, as a TT event i can certainly appreciate it quite much, so much that the TT events that where held on nurbergring i'd like a week or two more time in order to improve my record (i'd need a year or more to remember the track -LOL-) Yet the ring shouldn't be a TT more then other tracks.., well not much, i think.
And there's something else that bugs me (wich goes for GT in general) if you get of the track.., you get killed (figure of speech, i mean that the consequences are too severe mostly) i've been driving on grass a few times for real and i found it not quite as dangerous in real life then on GT. PD should (in my book) change that, they can be more forgiving on such occasions. It's examples like that wich makes me think twice before purchasing a PD game! Not that i hate them (tho sometimes i might want to murder Japan because of them -again i am [quite clearly] exaggerating a lot in this instance-) But they can be too precise, i miss soul, compassion, it's hardly gaming yet it isn't simulating by a long shot -okay compared to others GT5 is (probably) the best or even only one getting a bit close race simulator- and there is brewing some annoyance im my gut, GT is a precise game for the player and i expect the same level of precise'ness' from them. But simulating racing is IMPOSIBLE in a average household. In a race your rear end (the thing that touches your seat) is just as important as eyes and hands. GT5 has eyes and hands only. Thats where it goes wrong, you can't simulate the ass feeling of a spin off track, and on Nurnberg that's being missed a lot because of the small track.
Well my story got a bit longer than i guessed, i hope you all get the picture (smart people will) and have a clean race.
Greetings stano666 :)
