I was on my way to getting the 330 P4 when the good ol' 2.0 update came in with a bad side effect of killing the seasonal events. I know it was temporary to win big money, but damn PD, we need atleast a helping hand in this. Why not just let level 40 people gift other level 40's the 1mil+ cars? Maybe only one per month?

There shouldn't have been a limit on gifting in the first place because it's a gifting feature... If there was a trading feature then limits could be implemented, but seriously... my city isn't going to tell me I can't give away a Bugatti to someone if I want to. They'd probably be a bit miffed, but they'd let me give up the gift.

The Seasonals still pay out double the original prize credits now, rather than triple so long as you log into the game every day. All the offline A-Spec and B-Spec races pay out double too.

What brought about the 1 million trading cap was when Polyphony decided to allow game saves to be copied (in update 1.03 i think) for purposes of backup. Unfortunately, people discovered and exploited the duplication trick and using the on cars such as the x1's and other rares basically removing the 'rarity' of some of these cars.
The better solution would be:
Block the ability to copy saved games again!

I wish they would bring it back, I'm after just one car, the Ford Falcon XR8 but it seems I'm just having to go to a practice race, quit then check the used car dealership which is just full of dull, boring, Japanese cars that are all basically the same car with a different name.

That has to be the most stupid idea. Software and hardware (esp PS3s) crash, duh !

All PD needed to do was to make certain cars ungiftable, one of the many things overlooked/not thought through when GT5 beta, oops GT5 was released last year.

I would think that PD would remove the Credits cap after you hit A Spec and B Spec 40, I mean once you land the penniless trophy, the cap is pointless. Credit earning limit such trash, lose the credit limit and buying all those expensive cars won't be such a hard choice, you can continuously build cash and not be forced to go buy a car or worse yet lose millions when you reach the limit mistakenly. That is by far the worst offense in GT5, credits lost because of the cap and you can't store them anywhere, utterly lame. But I will deal with it as I have figured out a strategy to build money using the time trials and drift trials every couple of weeks, 8 million easy with little effort got to love the new consecutive logon prize boost, works in every mode.

What????? So if your PS3 goes on the blink you've got the double hit of not only having to buy a new PS3 but throw away almost a years worth of time and effort by having to start GT5 from scratch again?

Stupid idea.

The seasonal events aren't killed, you can still make almost half a million in the Formula GT races if you've signed in 6 days in a row. To answer the question, yes gifting cars should be brought back unrestricted, there's too much interference from PD as far as playing this game goes, can't gift certain cars, can't sell expensive cars (even ones you have bought!), now the new DLC restricted to one account. They should just stop meddling and let people play the game the way they want to like you can with every other ****ing game on the planet.

I have the end all solution to this. CHECK IT OUT.

We're allowed to gift as many cars as we want whenever we want as long as they are under 1,000,000 cr.

For cars over 1,000,00 cr. the one car per day limit would still apply.

DONE.

I have an even better idea, just leave the damn thing as it is.

You could always trade in the marketplace for the car you are after.
A lot of people have a full car list or alternatively get a level/birthday ticket and rip that for the car of your dreams!(or just the one you need to complete the collection)

regards

would be great to bring back the trading, was great stuff

but keep the copy protection off the save file. i got a ylod a couple weeks ago and only for being able to copy my save to usb stick once i noticed the ylod symptoms(ps3 turning itself off every half hour), i would of lost everything.

Stop duping X2010's and flooding the marketplace, rendering legitimately earned cars worthless. Play the game instead of turning into a business venture.

I thought we were over this by now? I've been playing since day one, maybe not as much as I used to but still a massive number of hours have gone into GT5, and I still haven't got the Mk.IV or 330 P4, and they're the main incentive for me to keep playing on my main account. The sooner you get all the cars, the sooner you lose that incentive.

Let's not forget that if you have the 200% bonus you'll get 8 million every time there's a new set of drift and time trials out, the X2010 event would have paid out 10 million (though I doubt the events to come will be anywhere near that profitable) and we now get bonuses on everything, even B-Spec (maybe even remote racing, I haven't checked).

Finally, expecting PD to willingly make it even easier to shortcut the achievement of earning 20 million is a bit unrealistic, why would they do that even after offering huge rewards for early seasonals, triple rewards on later seasonals and now double payouts on everything? It's already far, far, far easier than it was in the pre-seasonal event days... I've done too many laps of Indy in my life to want to go back to that.

Edit: an auction house would be great, but would be far more worthwhile if we could properly customise how the cars look. Otherwise you're just selling something with maybe a rare paintjob and a tune that could be found here for free.

Someone with sense. RAREEEE

It's getting crazy seeing how many people want stuff their way. Nothing about GT5 should be easy. Luckily for us (you guys), there are races in GT5 that are easy and get you quick cash. Luckily for us, PD didn't choose GT-R's and Tsukuba to be the best grinding track. It's a Ferrari Seasonal and Sarthe for a reason. ONE LAP. ONE SONG.

PD doesn't get enough credit. Just check the unlisted features threads that are made for some of the updates. All that goes unnoticed for 99% of the people who own GT5, because not everybody knows about this site, not everybody knows about those threads, not everybody cares to read into things.
