Broke my controller card!!!!

Well...long story short...I've been thrashing my old CECHA01 24/7 with remote racing and the widget...Monday morning I woke up to an idling PS3, couldn't read the disc. Monday night I took it apart and cleaned the lens, partially reassembled it and confirmed the game icon appeared...didn't boot the game as it was the wee hours of the morning. Get home last night and the game icon appears, but it won't boot...so, I start to disassemble it again and as I remove the small red/black connector, the whole piece breaks off the controller board!!!!!

Looking at ebay most BluRay units are sold without the controller. Anybody have a proven source for these???

By controller board I'm assuming you mean the thing attached to the bottom of the grey blu ray house like this picture...

What exactly have you broken? pics would be helpful. If you have just broken the connector clip on the board that might be fixable.

As for why all the blu ray drives on ebay don't come with that board the reason is because each board is individually keyed to the mobo and will only work together and not in another machine.

Yes, that is the board. The tiny plastic receiver that the small red/black wires clip in to broke off the board when I tried to pull the wires out.....

EDIT: Just got off the phone with rsolpc.com.... they suggest shipping it back to Sony for a refurbished one.....that's what I'm gonna do....
