I flat out, can't get enough of this movie,.. and yes,.. it's french :eek: :lol:


Has anyone seen it? Man-o-man, it sums up the 18th century society pefectly,... and includes some bad-friggin-ass fight scenes.

I've watched it like 10 times in the last month,... AWESOME, AWESOME flick,. highly reccommended.
 
I have this one on DVD. Marc Dacoscos is an excellent martial artist. He's been in numerous B movies as a fighter. He also starred as the main character in "the Crow" series on TV.

The director choreographed the scenes very well, and told an excellent story. I couldn't give a proper critique as I haven't watched it in quite sometime.

They did leave some blatant holes in the story, like where did the creature come from? Africa? And if so, what type of creature was it?

I'll have to go back and watch this again.

Yes DA,.. it was a lion from Africa. The evil brother (forget his name) who had the "bad arm", brought back a few lion cubs from africa and killed all but the strongest one. I think we can assume that his arm was mangled by "the beast", back in the day of it's training.

There was ONE flaw I found in the plot. They specifically indicate that the beast doesnt attack grown men,... yet, near the end of the movie, it does. Now, one would assume that the beast was trained to not attack grown men,... so, how did they "un-train" it so fast? Stupid flaw and barely noticable, but still a flaw.
