I just finished a lap on Nurburgring in Arcade time trial using the stock arcade version of Nissan GT-R '07. I changed nothing except turn off all assists apart from ABS=1.

My time was 07.28.3xx. When I quit and went into GT Life there was no trophy alert, and it displays as incomplete in my trophy list as well.

The only thing I can think of is that I selected the time/weather track of Nordschleife instead of the sunny one. Has anyone else experienced this?

And yes, I am 100% sure it was arcade and time trial. I double checked it before starting.

It is just Nurburgring Nordschleife and I would imagine no weather.

I drove on the regular (Nordschleife) ring, no GP or 24h, it's just that I picked weather/time track instead of sunny.

It's not exactly an advantage to drive with overcast weather, so the time should count.

Oh well, at least I know I did it. Can live without the actual cup/trophy.

Fellow forum members be warned. If you want the trophy then don't pick the weather track.

Overcast = cold weather = cold air = more HP = better times

:ouch:

The track you need to drive is in the trophy description. It is the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It is not the Nürburgring Nordschleife / Change Weather / Change Time.

Well if that's the case then I'll have to have a go at the sunny ring. Not a bug after all then.
Thanks, everyone. :)

Make sure you've sports hard or less.

Make sure to choose the "Arcade" version of the GTR '07 and not a GTR from your garage. Oh and most importantly....have fun pushing the car to its limits in grip!👍

My fastest time was a 7:26:980 with the DS3 and numerous mistakes. I've tried the black and silver GTR's beating the record time. I think I'll try the red one next time.👍

It will not stop you from getting the trophy if you have Grip Reduction set to Real, or Damage set to Light or Heavy.

Just figured I'd throw that out there in case anyone wants to make things a little bit more fun, but was afraid that any custom setting would kill the trophy.

Don' think this applys to GT5.

Cold weather=cold track=cold tires=poor grip.

But like Famine said it is the non weather track.

Ok, I got the trophy now, but only just: 07.28.9xx :)

Didn't notice any grip difference from overcast weather.

can it still be done with a tuned GT-R 07 from your favorites garage as long as the tyres are correct or has it been updated away ?

I'll share my Driving Options:
Transmission: Manual (herp derp)
Front/Rear Tyres: Sports Hard (it has to be this...otherwise you won't get the trophy)
Driving Line: On
Tractions Control: 3 (with 1 I slide too much, with 5 I'm going too slow)
Skid Recovery Force: On
Active Steering: Mild
ASM: Off
ABS: 1
Put Driving Line: On if you don't know the 'Ring.

If you want to come anywhere near the 29 second mark, you'll have to be power-sliding through corners.
As a bunch of additional tips, after you successfully complete your quickest lap, save the ghost data and then load it up. So that you'll be racing against your quickest time, this should naturally push you further.
You shouldn't be always breaking when it says so, because if you do, you won't make it. Also, I was breaking somewhat further than the best line was telling me, I suppose it was meant for those who play with Automatic Transmission, as with MT you're obviously taking advantage of engine breaking.
And the "correct gear for your next corner" display thing next to your current gear, was pretty much spot on.
Make sure you don't put ASM, otherwise the "on-board computer" will be pretty much slowing you down at the slightest turn.
The biggest difference in time was the first section, especially right at the start, where you have to break into 1st gear and turn left. And in the corner right after this, make sure you flick the wheel and slide (do not break); you'll be in 4th gear, and then you'll put 5th gear, then break in the corner until you get 2nd gear, and then slide as appropriate.
So yeah, the big hurdle of shaving of chunks of seconds, was when I figured out that you're supposed to be sliding in corners. At the last checkpoint, right where the straight begins, you should hit it at little over (talking 1 maximum 2 seconds here) over 6:40.
So make sure your skills in the "Scandinavian flick" are fairly descent.

Best of luck!

@TP1
I have to disagree with you on a few points.

Firstly, it's not desirable to power slide (I assume you mean as in drifting, putting the rear end out and slide?). This will in most cases cause you to lose time. Of course some places you may slide a bit, but you should not make a point of putting the rear end out.

Secondly, I found that doing the first section was a matter of using 2nd gear in the first corner to the left (after the clock starts) and then not go lower than 3rd for the rest of the section.

Below is my vid. As you can see I'm on the verge of sliding a few places, but it's not a full power slide.

Oh and I play with all assist off, except ABS which is at 1.

No, only the "Arcade Only" GTR '07 only. The tuned GTR from your garage will not count towards the trophy even with the same tires equipped.
