[Bug] Resuming timed endurance race

I was doing the 4h Nurburgring. I was first with 3 minutes lead. I did a pit stop where I suspended the race to get back latter and finish the last 4 or 5 minutes that remained to the whole event.

I got back a few hours latter, loaded into the game, the pit stop perfectly resumed and I was able to continue and set my tire and fuel settings. Everything was fine. So I started to drive my last lap. Less than 9 minutes latter I was about to cross the finish line when I noticed that I wasn't first anymore. In fact, I was now 8th. What the... :scared:

Mid-lap, I noticed that the "down time", or whatever how it's called, I mean the little clock at the bottom right corner of the screen that appears beginning with the last 60 minutes of the race, had reach "0". When it happened, the race kept going. So I tough that I had to actually finish my current lap. Wrong. I think this is precisely where the bug lie.

Did someone else experienced this bug?
How could I report this to PD? I'm ready to give my saved game containing the whole sequence if it could help.

Oh well... I'm sad now. :guilty:
 
Sounds like you didn't suspend the AI and they carried on without you. LOL

It's not a bug.

You were on the same lap as some of the AI. When the timer ran out, they crossed the line and finished and were ranked as having completed 26 laps (presumably) and finished - whereas you had finished 26 laps but not finished - so they were ranked ahead of you. When you finished your 27th lap you will have been promoted back to the top as you had completed 27 laps and finished.

You can exploit it as if it were a bug - by allowing the AI to start a lap they won't finish within the time and then finishing the race yourself, skipping through the post race screens, to get the credit for winning. The AI can't exploit it.
 
Famine, you are right. I just tried what you said. As soon as I crossed the line, I was pushed from 8th place at the 27th lap to 1st place at the 28th lap and the event gracefully finished with me on top of the podium.

So... I'm affraid it was a noob question on my part. This behavior is not obvious the first time you encounter it but eh, everything is fine now. I'll know for the next time!
