Bug - weather and tyres on championship events

I haven't seen this posted here, and I've only tried this on B-spec in the Dream Car championship, but there's a strange bug that often makes the championship a bit of a joke.

When the track loads and you can see it is raining the AI cars all start on dry tyres and will absolutely crawl round the lap, but you can change to wet tyres before the race and you'll fly away from the rest of the field. The AI cars will pit for wet tyres at the end of the first lap but by then your lead is huge. My Bob has even lapped cars at the Nurburgring while they're still on their first lap after about 17 minutes.

Then, if you go to the next race and it is dry the AI cars will start with the wet tyres they had on at the end of the previous race. They are almost as quick as they are on dry tyres but they all pit and change to dry tyres at the end of the first lap, gifting you another large lead.

If it is raining every alternate race then the whole series is a cake walk. Big money too for winning the series.

I can say the same for A-spec version of the Dream Car championship... however the AI was on rails on the 24hr Ring'... It annoyed the hell out how the AI could not lose control and they just zipped by me on dirt and grass on full dry tires... :ouch:

It's been mentioned loads, there's also an issue with soft slicks giving more grip in a wet race than rain tyres and different compound tyres wearing out at roughly the same speed - it's all a bit of a mess with the tyres, and the brakes too. 👎

lawl, maybe we should try snowtires or dirt 💡

Thanks for the tip, ;-)

On Monza I had no grip with the rain tyres. I went to the pit box changed to slicks and outrun the AIs.

Tyres really are a joke. Didn't expect that from this game though.

It's the same on A-Spec.
What happens is if the previous race was dry, they start on slicks.
If it's wet, rains. So you can take advantage of it, by judging the weather.
Sometimes, it will fool you, look like rain, and it's dry.
I figured out how to drive in the rain in A-Spec. Similar to how you would
in real life, but much more exaggerated.
With a high power car, for me it's the Minolta, never use a lower gear than 3rd.
Easy on the throttle on corners. Going through the 2nd chicane @ Monza,
I'm in 4th gear. It takes a bit to get used to, but once mastered, you can
easily lap the field at least once in every wet race.

I once thought to be extra smart and changed to intermediate after rain has stopped and after some few laps till the sprey wasn't so strong any more. But guess what, the intermediates were even worse then the rain tires. So I always skip them and change to hard racing when the AI starts getting faster. It seems they also skip them.
