Hi,
As many of you, I like the idea to have 2 or 3 versions of one and the same car - one with all modifications, one without, etc. Naturally I decided to paint the cars in different colors in order to search for the right one.

And here is the problem. I find it extremely frustrating that when a friend send me a paint chip with the same name it happens to differ from the paint chip I have so when I sort them by manufacturer/color they pop up at the front of the list and not in proper order - to have 2 copies of a particular paint chip!
So in this way, if a friend sends me 5 paint chips (chips that I already have but want to have 2 copies of a particular chip I like, just in case) and I have 100 Nissan paint chips, I end up with 105 paint chips instead of 100.
And it's not that they are different shades of the same color - they are exactly the same.

So is this a bug, am I not doing something correctly? I know there are such problems with helmets/suits.
Any ideas?

It's a known bug. A stacking issue. Add it to the list of small, annoying bugs that should have been corrected before release if PD had done a decent playtest.

Also.
When I try to use a bugged paint chip to paint a car in order to get rid of it, it actually takes from my normal ones, which are stacked correctly.
Very annoying!

Paints received from friends stack in one place and paints given in game as bonus or prizes stack in another, even thou they are the same colour. Also some paints with the same name but are in different stacks look slightly different shades for some reason.

Solution?........isn't one as far as I know.

It works the other way as well I think, I've only noticed it a few times. If you use a normal paint, a bugged paint merges with the normal paints.

Those are different colours, they just have the same name. That's why they don't stack.
As I said - that's not the case!

Are you sure?! LOL! That is some explanation for what is going on. I even see logic behind that solution. Good point! Finally that makes some sense!

Oh, my! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Although I'm still wait for something like that to happen to my chips. They just sit at the top of the list and even if I use them, they refuse to go away or stack properly. But maybe I'm just getting anxious. :) Haha.

Haven't had than happen before. You sure you didn't have 2 stacks of them? :sly:

Yes, I think this is correct, although I do have several paints of which I have 3 stacks while I'm 100% they're the same paint.
Some examples of which I own 3 stacks are; Matte Purple, Matte White and Matte Black (not confusing it with Matt Black, no).

 no idea about 3 stacks that's a new one on me!

Unless it is one stack from friends, one from car bonus, ie 30 car paint bonus, and maybe another from the seasonal's that pay out paint.
That's all I can think of for having 3 stacks but that's just a guess on the 3 stack to be honest. ;) :sly:
