I dont know if this is something youve noticed or not, i havnt read about it anywhere, so i thought id post it.

When reading the various race criteria before entering a race, pay a notice to where it says "Range of Tune" or something (dont remember the exact text there). anyway, in some races, like the Supercar races in Pro. events, it says "Unmodifyed Cars Only" and it flashes red. This is not because youve got a modifyed car, this is because its got less than 493bhp which is a criteria further down the list.
So, what ive noticed lately, is that the "Unmodifyed Cars Only" criteria, really doesnt work. i tried it again last night to see if it was only me, but no, i entered the Supercar challenge with a 1000hp SRT10 with ALL modifications done to it, without any question. This has to be the biggest bug in GT4 that im aware of, not that ive been looking for any though. Its a great game, and i love drifting in it, but that is a huge glitch
(this bug does not only go for the Supercar challenge in pro. events, it goes for ALL events restricted with the "Unmodifyed Cars Only" tag... if you have a hard time winning, spend some cash on it and try again)

aha... my bad then... why dont they just type "no race cars" then, heh

brobly a glitch in the translation or it tok up to much room?

"unmodified" seems to mean "no racecars".

IIRC 'Unmodified' also includes Rally Cars, Touring Cars etc.
Most people thinks "Unmodified" means not tuned - and this is something PD should've specified more.

what i noticed is that when it says no modifications it ment that all the pieces where you have the choice between the normal or the racing (i.e. racing vs normal exaust) you would have to have at normal. All the parts that cannot be removed once added (i.e. cylinder size increase, sorry have the game in french ;)) are allowed. All parts that have to do with the chassis and tires are allowed, unless specified so (i.e. normal tires required).

that's how it works for me, so if my car needs some extra power, i'll just add all the parts that cannot be removed and the chassis parts. usually gives me way enough power to kill the opp.

I thought you could change anything, including turbo upgrades as well. Will have to have another look at it.

You can; I did some of those races with fully tuned cars.

yea i bought everything for a certain car and used it in an "unmodified" race
had no problems

It says "Production Cars Only" on my copy of the game, not "Unmodified Cars Only."

Mine too says Production Cars.

Mine too says Production Cars.

Same here, but it still wouldn't let me enter with the ZZII, yet I raced against it in the third race. Whats that about?! :odd:

That's a "feature." There are many races where the AI uses cars you aren't allowed to enter with.

is this different then "production cars only", like it says on mine, or do I have a different version?

Unmodified cars means no race cars / rally cars / tuner cars.

So, You can race an R33 Skyline with 700 hp, but not a 400 hp Nismo 400R.
Also there's a bug with the Ruf cars - the BTR is 'normal car', where the CTR
is a 'tuner car' even if their only difference is in the wheel arches, front bumper
and CTR's twin turbos.
