Why has PD made the Buick 62 so over the top? It handles like a dream. I get it comes with Tuned engine to level 2 and sports soft tires and a few others, but it weighs 1300 kg base!

Untouched it one the Pro level muscle challenge with no problem, I dropped a supercharger, level 1 weight reduction, exhaust etc to take it to 700 hp and it's beating Ferrari Enzo's and Zonda's on the Supercar festival.

That thing should handle like a boat, there's no way it should turn like it does, so any reason why PD has made it so good or just a weird glitch?

The '62 Buick Special was indeed a special car, IMHO. The motor was a monster engine, and after all the "restomods" seem like it would be a supercar. I like it.

Similar to the Ford Mustang Trans-cammer and the Art Morrison Vette, the Buick Special was a SEMA winner that was included in the game back in GT4.

it was way too good in gt4 aswell. there was one race for i think pre 70s cars and it was un-racable if the 62 special was in the line up. and it was way under rated in terms of A spec points

If there's any complaint regarding that car it should be that maybe it shouldn't be allowed to race in the classic and historic car races as it's only a Buick Special in name and looks only it's all modern performance underneath.

Against many different types of cars, the Buick Special 62 is like taking a M249 SAW to a knife fight.

Yeah ok its all custom underneath, but it still shouldn't handle like it does. The thing has no Aero (and can't have a wing added) yet I was cornering faster than a Yellowbird RUF on the supercar festival Pro level event.

Well there's no info I can find on the real "Bu'Wicked" ever racing. The SEMA prize is awarded for looks not for racing performance.

It's just not really believable to me that a hotrodder modified huge heavy old chassis FR with totally wrong weight distribution like a 62 Buick can corner as well as a modern MR supercar like a Ferrari Enzo, RUF or Zonda.

If I remember correctly, it was impossible to drive in GTPSP. It would literally sit in the one spot burning out its rear wheels.

I hope you aren't basing that comparison on the Ruf CTR Yellowbird of all things. A 455 Buick engine may be heavy, but at least it is mostly in between the axles.

It's a race car with a Buick body. It's about as much of a Buick Special as a Chevy Impala is a NASCAR Impala.

It has a big lightweight engine, a race car tubular frame with a built in roll cage, huge slick tires, etc. It seems about as fast as it should.

I absolutly love this car, looks good, sounds great and goes like a bat out of hell.
No traction+heaps of hp= 4th gear power skids for the length of most straights.
Nice and smokey.

So where's the race results of the real life "Bu'Wicked" that this was based on? Like I said it won an award for looks, there's no record of it ever racing and I seriously doubt it would be competitive.

Art Morrison chassis just like the Buick special. This car is a shell on top of a modern chassis/drivetrain, capable of 0.94G lateral Gs (supercar territory)
of course its gonna be able to keep up with a Ferrari or RUF etc.

˝The only thing that's original 1955 is the body shell˝

I like how the description in the game says "American cars of yesteryear, when the cars had personality"

Talk about truth.

Why would you doubt it would be competitive? Anything with a racing frame, 1300kg weight, 600 hp, racing slicks, and a racing transmission is gonna be pretty damn fast.

It won't be competitive with an F1 car or something, but it would be competitive with most sports cars.

it drives the same way in gt4 so may be thats why its called "special"?
