Trying to get some clean 80's style NASCAR racing at Indy going. The only car in the game I know of that comes the closest to fitting the criteria is the Buick GNX. If there's any other full sizes from the 80's in the game bring 'em. Anyone interested send me a friend request with something about this 80's NASCAR racing attempt.

I'd like somethn like that....

'88 Camaro IROC-Z
'90 Corvette (a stretch)
'98 Taurus SHO (a real stretch)

That's about it. It's a shame they didn't include an '80s Mustang, T-Bird, Firebird, Cutlass, etc. The game is heavily biased toward Japanese cars.

I spend probably 80% of my time online in the GNX, would definitely be up for this if you run the road courses (Indy, Daytona) Not much interest in an oval but if others are in ill join.

Eerrr i think we're stuck with GNX or nothing to keep it as true as possible. I was on last night, couldn't get any takers in a room I started up for it. I think a GNX oval race would be fun, now trying to build up friends with same interest. Also thinking about a modern Nationwide Series type race because those cars are more or less available.

I wish there was a short oval, 0.5-1 mile...or a dirt oval. I know this game isn't about nascar but oval racing has its own challenges and I'd like to experience them.

I like the idea. I think with the only the GNX, people will lose interest after one or two races. But if we open it up to most American cars and just set a HP and Weight requirements, I think that would make things a lot more exciting. What HP range are you guys thinking?

I wonder if bringing in the older muscle and using a PP cap would be worthy?

I also like this idea of GNX racing. Nothing wrong with 16 differently colored GNX's dicing it up. :)

If you do mix cars, there may be needs for testing and limiting PP.

As well if you do have cars that get less PP to make it fair. This can be regulated.

Open the room up to lowest PP car allowed. They enter pit and sit. Next PP marker is set and that group enters pit and sits. This goes on till all cars are in pits.

The GNX actually behaves very much like the older muscle cars in game. It has the same suspension setup and 5 speed trans (when upgraded). From my personal tuning the only muscle cars that are noticeably quicker than the GNX are the two 69 camaros and the 71 mach1. All of the Chryslers and the other two (Cougar, Tempest) are pretty much dead even with it.

I should add that my experiences are based on road courses, I would think on an oval they would all be pretty much even with their similar setups, weight, and gearing.
