I do not know where this thread belongs. Here's a stab at it.

I would like to start a GT5 Society groups.

It is essentially a friends list, but under the umbrella of a shared perspective on GT5. Not a random friend list of people who play by various and conflicting standards.

Perhaps this is where I ask for advise on where and how to do that. Or it could be where someone tells me it is already happening.

Thanks.:nervous:

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by GT5 Society Group.

But while you're clarifying that, if you want a group in any format of people with a shared perspective on GT5, you need to identify that perspective, the basis for joining, what the function of the group will be, and what you'd hope to get out of it.

Thanks Danny!

I do have a group for myself in mind, but my question is generally about how this is done. However, I suppose I would need to be very specific in defining my goals, so thanks for that.

Could you direct me to the page or forum for such group design?

So then, to the point. Through GT5 Society Groups I would want a forum within which anyone could advertise for like minded players to friend and shape their own gaming with. Perhaps it would be a way for players to avoid the common mishaps of ending up with gamers who use conflicting methods of game play, ie. dupes, hacks, or racing etiquette issues.

I assume this already exists, but so many of us are yet to stumble into it.

You can create a group on GTPlanet (you haven't specified where, so I'm assuming you mean on here) right here.

If you have something a bit different that you feel deserves a group, that's where you need to go. However it's a good idea to search the groups first to avoid repetition.

Also, as I am aware, the groups won't be around for too much longer, they're being replaced with a similar feature in a new format.

Ahh, I see. I will search the existing groups.

The idea is simply to refocus people on gaming they way they, or we, choose to. No need going on about what is fair and what is not. Just try out some different communities and stay where one enjoys oneself. That is really my goal, I don't race others online much, and when I do I know who I am racing.
