Burning question , Is it possible, to get fastest lap times, with no Aids, or just ABS1?

All the people on Time Trials, getting 5s~10s faster than my fastest times, I need to ask, are they using aids such as SRF and or Stability?

and Is it at all possible, to match or beat their record times, in those same events, with no aids at all? or is that impossible?

And IF those said drivers ARE using aids, can those same pilots Match their record times with no aids, if practiced hard?

Should fastest times be reached without Aids, other than pure human driving inputs / skill?

sorry if this question has been already asked.

I ask because I find it discouraging to see the fastest time, way WAY faster (how the heck does one gain 10s on a 90s lap??), than my practiced time using no aids. I will admit to not being the best driver, nor do I expect ever to be, but i find it uncanny, (I never studied ghosts much) that so much time can be gained, when you think you can do everthing fairly well, and take your same driving skill online, and remain fairly consistently competitive.

SRF - Always going to be faster.

ABS - I have seen a few people using no ABS run some pretty quick lap times so I guess I would say it is a possibility for a non ABS guy to win out. There are a very few of those fast non ABS guys though that would be able to pull that off.

Active Steering - It is very much a possibility to win out without using it, I've seen it happen many times.

TC - No possibility to win out with it, that I've seen anyway, as it slows you down. It really only helps out DS3 users with throttle control to help control wheel spin.

And yes, most everyone on the leaderboards (top 254 I think it is) is using SRF. If you choose not to use it, you are going to lose between 3-5 seconds, or more depending on the track, to everyone else using it.

Hope this answers your question.

As @GTP_CargoRatt says, SRF is the big difference maker in laptimes. It's a difference of 2 or more seconds outright depending on the track/car combination, the longer the track the bigger the difference. It allows you to carry more speed through the corners it's as simple as that.

Driving without ABS is something that needs a lot of practice but it won't make the average driver faster, likely slower by a half to full second. Highly skilled pilots can get close to or very close to ABS laptimes but with a lot of skill and practice.

The new FT-1 Seasonal has SRF forced off. Give that a spin and see where you end up. Without ABS or other aids a good time would be in the 1:44's, a very good time would be in the 1:43's, superb would be in the 1:42's, Alien in the 1:41's. Download some of the replays of the top drivers for reference, you can learn a lot from them. Good luck:cheers:

I did arrive to 1:44:5xx(consistently lap after lap) with only ABS at 1, T500 wheel manual paddle shifting, for the gold, after about 30 minutes of practice, on this particular event,

I know I can get better, if negotiated that right hander (near middle of track, where the chicane is rerouted), and then properly entering and exiting the uphill right hander leading to the straight.

but a whole 5s? really? I need someone to teach me how to gain such time, I'd pay for lessons. My most advanced technique so far, in most races, is throttle blipping, mixed with heel toe style, though I am using both feet instead of just 1.

Can the shifter with clutch improve times, than just paddle shifting?

Since many use ABS @1, what can people say about ABS of values 2-10, any use for that?

The top pilot so far is at 1:40.5. The fastest pilots in the world are crowding the top of the leaderboard including the legendary @IMMORTALPILOT who has won many TT's and DHolland, who held every single record in one of the previous GT's (GT) and who won the Nurb TT in the Vette in GT5 which I believe had more than 100,000 participants and people put a lot of effort into. You can't compare yourself to those guys:lol:, most of us can't, they are in another category altogether. It'd be like entering a Celebrity Race in a 150HP hatchback and trying to compete with Sebastian Vettel if you get my drift.

I myself ran a 1:42.2 or thereabouts and last time I checked I was about 150th and the top Canadian so far.

Use the paddles, nothing is faster than paddles, same with left foot braking. Focus on the corners before the long straights. The first hairpin (corner 1), 2nd hairpin (corner 2) and of course Panasonic, the corner before the front straight. Getting those right is critical to a fast lap. Sacrifice entry and mid-corner speed to get the exit just right if you have to.

I don't put a lot of time into TT's. My pattern is to run 15 or 20 laps to lay down a decent time and then I often don't come back to it. The few times I did, I would run further sessions of 10-15 laps. For me, once I go longer than 10-20 laps I lose focus and rarely improve after that but it may be different for you.

In the same way that Michael Schumacher could never have taught Luca Badoer be as fast as him the aliens in video games will never be able to teach you to be as fast as them. They're just naturally gifted at going fast and some of them translate that to being fast in real life.

I have only ever used ABS 1 , but I can match those times with ABS 0.

SRF is the killer, and the only one that 'magically' gives more grip.

I've been very impressed with ASM whilst having a play, feels very similar to real life active stability systems I have felt in use.

Driving with no ABS is much easier than it was in GT5. I have even used ABS 0 on a few certain cars to get them to rotate better, thus bettering my lap times by a few hundredths. I recently ordered a GTEye brake spring mod which will be here tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to trying it out with ABS 0.

I'm on a dfgt with a sponge stuffed under the brake pedal.

Once you have the brake bias dialed in nicely, I would agree, that abs 0 can actually be faster.

SRF is "antipattinamento" in the italian translation?

because TCS is "controllo trazione"
ABS is "ABS"
Active Steering is "sterzata attiva"
SC is "controllo stabilità"

What sort of question is this? You don't have to use driver aids to be fast. In fact, if you don't use driver aids you will probably be a faster and more skilled driver. (But you do need ABS at 1 in GT6)

Save replays from the top of the leaderboard, display all info, and watch from different camera angles while paying attention to lines and brake/throttle input. Then open the data logger and compare your replays to to the leaders. You'll easily see where they're making time compared to you.

You'll love the GTEYE but it takes some pressure to work that pedal:lol: I had some time this afternoon so I re-ran the TT with ABS off and got within 4/10ths. Downside is the BB is locked at 5/5 and it could benefit from some adjusting. Still I was pretty consistently within 6-8/10ths so it's not that far off for me and it was easier to get the car to rotate sometimes with split second timing.

All the aids will slow a good pilot down except SRF, ABS1 and perhaps Active Steering if it's available. Thing is though, not everyone is a good pilot and sometimes aids are the difference between being consistent and having a shunt every lap and can make some slower drivers ultimately faster.

And no you don't need ABS at 1 in GT6, ABS0 is easily drivable now especially if you can tune the BB to suit your liking.

I use a DS3, am a terrible driver (my car gets scratched up more than the road and time trials are all but neglected) and yet I only run ABS 1 on every car and was amazed to be getting at least 2 tenths faster on the gold time on every license test- compared to previous GT games where maybe a bronze was the best I could do. (Perhaps they made license tests easier?) Mission races were also very easy.

Still, running with them off allows your car to be less limited in how it accelerates, corners, (and slides ;) ), thus making it much faster. As said previously however, DS3 is challenging to keep the car from spinning it's wheels out of every corner. (I mostly came over this by assigning the accelerator and brake to R2 & L2, upshift/downshift to square and x .) But I have heard before that ABS off makes you faster still- didn't know that SRF is actually widely used and makes you faster, however...

All in all, run a few races and laps with all aids turned off and ABS 1 or 0. Once you get used to how the car feels going into/out of corners, you should feel lap times being faster. Gaining 10 seconds, though? Probably comes down to a wheel, skill, and throwing down several lap times, so a line and rhythm can be perfected.
